Somewhat Positive (relatively speaking, that is).

I probably wouldn't vote for him over Obama, but he seem pretty centrist and I don't see any big red flags with him at the moment. So I put somewhat positive.

Very positive, but if there is even one pander, it will go all the way down to negative.

I voted "somewhat positive."  A "very positive" rating from me would indicate a willingness to vote for him.  I'm not there yet, and don't have to decide anything until at least primary season.  But, so far, I like the guy, and will listen to what he has to say in the coming months.

Imagine what the reaction of a certain group of posters on this forum would be if Huntsman is elected President....

Somewhat negative, though obviously clearly better than all the other Republicans who aren't one issue pro-drug (Johnson) or pro-gay (Karger) candidates.

Somewhat Positive. He seems reasonably non interventionist, and I think he has enough actual experience overseas to know to be cautious with where to send our military. He's my second choice right now, and one of two Republicans I won't have to hesitate in voting for.

He strikes me as smart, serious, and sane.(Who would think I'd go for those qualities.) Smiley  That said, I don't think he'll get all that far, but keep the dream alive.

Very negative

Better to simply elect Nixon's corpse president.  At least he couldn't do any damage.

Somewhat positive. We'll have to see if his centrism is genuine or if it is political posturing. I suspect the former, but one never knows with the modern crop of politicians.

He's to 2012 what Lamar Alexander was to 1996 -- one of the better choices out there and one of the few who could make a case against the incumbent, but one without a shot in hell.

Replace "very" with "somewhat" for me.

He isn't nearly as moderate as he's portrayed to be but I do have some policy gripes with him.

I agree with this, basically.

As others have noted, he has close to a 0% chance of winning the nomination, which puts him in the same boat as Johnson and Karger, amusingly enough.

I heard he was focusing his campaign on Nevada and Florida.  He can be the Giuliani of 2012!

Re Giuliani: I thought Newt was this year's Giuliani, if on a much shorter timeframe.

On OP: Moderately negative. I don't hate him but his Utah records shows he's a pure squish and he should stop pretending otherwise. Especially when the fawning MSM openly says that you're running to Romney's left.

The funny thing is that the MSM is basically smothering his campaign in the cradle by repeating that kind of thing ad nauseam.

I like what the candidate says...even if it contradicts what his intentions have been in the past.

So the candidate is okay, the man is not
