Yeah.

Do we really have to focus on the Palins? I mean really, maybe if we don't think about them, they'll go away.

eh.

I know this doesn't look good if she's going to run for president, but who really cares?  This is nothing more than average high school drama and I doubt many voters care what a 16 year old daughter of any candidate has to say about, well, anything.

How often is "f****t" and "gay" used by teens these days to denote something generally derogatory? When I was in high school, using those words didn't mean you hated gays, they were just another tool in the toolkit. But I'd thought things might have changed in the past 10 years? Am I wrong?

Tell that to McCain's daughter, she's a "journalist" now.

Things have changed, I still use the term "gay" to denote things I don't like, im not homophobic, but everyone labels me as it. Oh well, just the time I suppose

The article was dated November 16th.  That was about the time I first read it - I considered posting it here, but reading the entire Facebook argument gave me a headache.

Btw, not that this has much to do with the OP, but it's not worth starting a new thread on so I might as well mention it here, Bristol is buying a house in the Phoenix area:

Glad to see the Palin family maintains a uniform level of about the same maturity.

As usual...if Sarah Palin can't keep her kids in line, what can she keep in line?

Maricopa, Arizona? That is bizarre. It's far from everything and riddled with foreclosures. Maybe far from everything is a good thing for her?

The word "f****t" is often used in a context not referring specifically to gays.  I say it all the time, as a general insult, rather than anything directed towards gays.

Yes, in that case you're insulting someone who isn't gay by using a slur describing him as gay or in negative terms associated with gays (weak, feminine, whatever.) It's a slur against gays, using it against a straight person doesn't negate that.

How old are you, again? I didn't think much of the Willow Palin "scandal"...

I don't think of it in that way.  Most people who use it in such a context don't think of it in that way either.

Really? Then when you call someone a f****t, what do you mean by it?

In Morgan's defense, people don't really think about what they use as an insult, as long as it does the job, it doesn't matter to the normal person what it means.:/

Maricopa Arizona is apparently sort of by Arizona State University.  ASU somehow has a good broadcasting school.  Anyway, ASU isn't any less credible than the joke school Obama attended before transferring (transferring to a better school means nothing) while he was consuming cocaine.

On a side note, it'd be interesting to see how much Romney has fallen in Arizona.

Pbrower,

Are you talking about how she cannot control her son who is a decorated military veteran, something that the Obama kids, who spent a good deal of their childhood in a racist church, will never be able to say?
