A very legitimate concern.

We should hold hearings as to wisdom of Fritz leaving his door unlocked and open. Tongue

NOTICE:

With regards to the issue of bodyscanning and the TSA, as well as the complaints lodged to this office...

Although final say so lies with the President, I am making the recommendation that body scanning be officially ended. My office will be instructing TSA security in a new procedure. They will no longer be allowed to touch sensitive areas of male and female passengers. These include the "private parts". I'm recommending that children and those with developmental disabilities be exempt from patdowns.

Passengers may lodge official requesting for their refunds, which this office demands be granted and none of those passengers will be placed on no-fly lists. However, the three persons arrested for assault will not be released, and will instead have to go through the traditional channels in the judiciary.

What this office can do, it will do. I make these recommendations to President Fritz and he can either go along or deny my requests. For those who have felt violated and have been inconvenienced, this office offers profound apologies.

DR. CYNIC, SOIA

As President, I stand behind the Secretary's reccomendations.

Security on board our airlines is important, and we must act to ensure that weaponry and explosive devices are not brought aboard our air crafts.  We live in a dangerous world.   Our security needs must also meet the criteria of common sense.  While I applaud the TSA for their diligence, I agree with th Secretary that this has been taken a bit too far, and needs to be scaled back.

I thank the President for taking this office's recommendations to end body scans and to instruct TSA workers in new patdowns designed to protect consumer dignity but continue to be diligent in ensuring our security.

Apparently I was not very clear.

While I applaud the TSA for their diligence, I agree with th Secretary that this has been taken a bit too far, and needs to be scaled back.

I do not accept the resignations of TSA Administration officials.  I invite those who have tendered their resignations to meet with myself and Secretary Doctor Cynic at the White House, to discuss the best methods of ensuring safety on our air crafts within sensible parameters.  If these officials refuse to meet and return to their posts, I instruct the Secretary to replace them forthwith.

I oppose efforts to abolish the TSA, and will veto any such legislation that reaches my desk.

As I said, we live in a dangerous world, and security is a grave concern that I take very seriously.

In a light of your and GM stance, Mr. President, I'm no longer consider myself a part of the team.

I hoped for some courage in reforms, and we have just more of the same.

Secretary Dr. Cynic and I have just concluded a very successful meeting with the leaders of the TSA.  I am pleased to announce they have rescinded their resignations and returned to work.

It was agreed by all that additional training in less invasive pat down techniques is needed, and will be implemented promptly.

It was further agreed that it is not necessary to subject every flying passenger to these procedures, and that a randomly selected sample could be used.  The number suggested is one in four.  I have overridden Dr. Cynic's reccomendation that children and disabled persons be excluded from the sample.

Finally, it was agreed that persons reasonably suspected of criminal activity would be subject to scanning or pat down procedures.  It was made clear, however, that the bar for this suspicion must be set very high, and that racial profiling will not be tolerated.

I feel confident that we have acheived the goals of meeting our security needs within the boundaries of common sense.  Smiley
