The one that went for Clinton.

No, 1992 does not count for a simple reason that Clinton won Montana in that election.

I'd say Louisiana for sure, unless the Dem candidate was moderate and from one of the other states.

Three way toss-up between South Carolina, Louisiana, and Georgia in my mind, but I said Louisiana.

Louisiana, Breaux had he ever run could have won it in a blow-out, Warner, Lincoln, Rendell or Bayh could take it depending on who the GOP nominates.

If Sam Nunn had ever ran for President he would hjave won Georgia in a blowout. I think Georgia is the most likely, mainly due to the high minority percentages in Atlanta.

Louisiana.   Georgia is starting to vaguely drift in the Dem's direction in mind, though.

LA just passed us up for the Highest Obesity Rate in the nation.  Better start drinking more full-bodied ale.  I'm doing my share  Wink

Definetely Louisiana, although Georgia is drifting left and may be a swing state in 8-12 years.

I say LA, both states seem to be trending GOP, but LA did go twice for Clinton and the GA Democratic machine seems to be disappearing fast´with Republicans now holding both senate seats, for instance.

That's funny!

Louisiana seems to be the only Southern state on that list where the Democratic Party isn't totally decimated.  So it gets my vote.

More African Americans are moving into Georgia, but I seriously doubt it will be a swing state anytime soon.

All of those states are became more republican in the 2004 election.  I think South Carolina will be the first state to vote for a non-southerner.  It's on the coast, which is  becoming more democratic.

All the states are coastal states.

LA is trending right-ward, but it was a swing state in the last few elections and in the beginning of 2004, so I had to choose it.

Louisiana.

If anything, Georgia is trending even further Republican and there's a good chance it could be fundamentally as Republican as Texas within the next 4 years.

The Atlanta suburbs will dominate every else, as long as rural Georgia continues to be foreign territory for the Democrats.

Lousiana for sure. Georgia, South Carolina are far-cries at the moment.

Only way a Democrat can win those states is if a major conservative third party takes a huge chunk of the vote and that wouldnt gaurantee it for the Democrats.
