Chuck Todd was on Hardball last night and said both Republicans and Democrats were in agreement Wisconsin was gone for Democrats.  He went so far as to include Wisconsin in the group with Indiana, Arkansas, and North Dakota.  Ouch.  I wouldn't go that far.

Encouraging, but then I'm not sure if Norbert College is a decent pollster or not.

Something's up this week.  I'm having trouble finding an external factor that would drive a national swing to the Dems, but it does appear to be happening.

The lazy answer would be to suggest that Democrats are "waking up", as they say, but who knows? Tongue

A quick history of St. Norbert polling:

51% Obama
38% McCain

Final result: Obama+14

...

51% Doyle (D)
38% Green (R)

Final result: Doyle+8

UGH. Don't get my hopes up! I think I'll literally jump out of my seat if Feingold manages to win.

He's gotta surge back from the dead first! This might be a start... or it might just be completely bogus. I guess we'll find out more soon enough.

These are the only polls they ever did, or what?

Well, if they get lucky three times in a row, maybe they should go into the business fulltime.

So am I.  Feingold is losing in this poll.  Feingold losing will be the best possible thing for the First Amendment short of McCain going down to someone who doesn't back criminalizing political speech to protect incumbents.

More Democrats are coming back into the fold. We'll need some more confirmation on this, but if this is right, I think Feingold will pull out a win. I never wrote him off, just because I think he can make a comeback.

Please, please, please make Feingold win. I couldn't care less about WV or even CO/WA/CA if only Feingold wins.

In the panoply of useless info, St. Norbert in 2004 did a poll on October 4-13 which showed Kerry 48, Bush 43.

You do realize that if Republicans win WV, CO, WA and CA, they will likely take control of the Senate regardless of what happens in WI, right?  As much as I dislike Feingold, I'd take that trade, too.

Realistically, I doubt the Dems will lose CA or WA.

if I were a Dem, I'd be sweating any race where the GOP candidate is within 5 points.

Yes but this is a lot closer than other recent polling. It's within the margin of error and shows he's got a shot.
