I hope such shameless intervention of one Midwestern to Mideast policy won't hurt you, but I endorse you, even if I'm not able to vote Wink

What do you think could be done in the Mideast to improve our education system?

I will support not giving money to religious schools, but other private schools I would support keeping. Public school needs to be reformed. I would try to get rid of tenure and I believe that there should be a free public education.

I quite like the red banner. Though I can't vote for you, you of course have my endorsement.

And what about inner schools like Chicago? Where half the kids are the bread winners for the families, all work jobs, many can't read or write, they have no text books and some can't even speak english? We just say screw you to the teachers there because they have the toughest jobs in the nation? Ending teacher tenure is only going to put schools in bad parts of town further behind, because no matter what the teachers do, or how much of an impact they make, it won't be enough to match any other school in the Mideast.

If you want to end teacher tenure, I hope you're not going to tie the hands of the teachers behind their backs and leave them stranded without help.

Yeah, now that I think about it, it's not a good idea.

Education I believe is the hardest problem. Because while at levels of government you need to control it, it is extremly hard to judge what schools should get why and why, teacher salaries are one of those
