I completely agree with A-Bob. There is some schools that need to be reformed, but others don't.

I will support not giving money to religious schools, but other private schools I would support keeping. Public school needs to be reformed. I would try to get rid of tenure and I believe that there should be a free public education.

What reforms need to be made?
Like getting rid of tenure.

And what about inner schools like Chicago? Where half the kids are the bread winners for the families, all work jobs, many can't read or write, they have no text books and some can't even speak english? We just say screw you to the teachers there because they have the toughest jobs in the nation? Ending teacher tenure is only going to put schools in bad parts of town further behind, because no matter what the teachers do, or how much of an impact they make, it won't be enough to match any other school in the Mideast.

If you want to end teacher tenure, I hope you're not going to tie the hands of the teachers behind their backs and leave them stranded without help.

You just earned some respect from me, A-Bob. Smiley

Shocked Thanks. One more thing to add...even with the best funding, teachers and technology...to truly make an amazingeducation system...the students have to want one. They have to want an education. Our job needs to make it worth their time to care about school and have the materials ready to give them that quality education they deserve.

How?  You need to be specific in how you will accomplish this.

Start using alternative energies like solar power, wind power, and water power (including using these for cars as opposed to gasoline), and reduce the usage of cars by making more electric cars and hybrids. Also, encourage the usage of bicycles. Also, stupid as it seems, carpools should be encouraged because it burns less fossil fuels by using less gas. The furnace and air conditioner should be lower too.

He's asking how you plan to do this. This post doesn't make any sense.

Well, the bill would force companies to make a certain percentage of the cars hybrids/electric/solar powered/wind powered/water powered.

Well, the bill would force companies to make a certain percentage of the cars hybrids/electric/solar powered/wind powered/water powered.

so it would monopolize the industry since only the largest companies could pay for this?

you do realize that electric powered cars and engines cannot replace massive diesel trucks (which drives a lot of our economy)

Good point. I admit, I haven't really thought it out.

Like, a balanced budget? Then, well, since the economy isn't that great, no.
