I didn't understand him when I first came here.  (Well, I'm not sure I still do.  The whole emo thing is a complete mystery to me and the older I get, the more apt I am to tell people to "get a haircut".)  And I still think he paints himself into corners too quickly in a few instances.

But the guy has a tremendous handle on politics in the old Northwest...can be as funny as anyone here (except Lunar, of course!)...and has a pretty deep and developed commitment to social, economic and racial justice.

How do I not like that?

Plus...he understands what I deal with on a regular basis with so many Mo. Syn. folks around these parts.

I have to admit, for all his negative traits, and there are many, and in spite of all the times I want to reach through the computer and kill him... I like having him around.

I wouldn't quite say that I view him as a "frenemy" but its somewhere in that realm.
