I don't think boasting about dead civilians, even if said civilians are misguided individuals, is constructive either way is it?

Israel has a "right " to reoccupy the Gaza Strip and remove elements that attacked it from there but not to indiscriminately kill non-armed people.

Considering the amount of popular support we can see Hamas and PIJ having in the streets of Gaza perhaps the people of Gaza need a sharp reminder of the realities of life. I think they should take complaints about civilian losses to the Hamas Ombudsman.

How is that a like-for-like? The Ukraine has indeed targeting numerous Russian civilian targets for months now. I don't recall the west having much qualms about the people of Donetsk

I don't see where I adopted Russian propaganda.

The reality is that civilians die in conflicts, especially when their leadership actively seeks to hide between them. Moreover, the people of Gaza are themselves taking part in this war as evident in many videos showing many of them spontaneously joining the fighting since the early strike. So my general stance atm is 'em. The gloves are off.

Israeli political question - there was some talk yesterday in Israeli English-language media about formation of a national unity government, with Likud and Gantz offering their participation for the duration of the crisis.

Netanyahu seems to have said he'd only accept that if the likes of Ben Gvir also remain in the administration (which appears to be a red line for Likud).

Is there any chance of that broader coalition forming now? Or was this more about Likud and Gantz signalling cooperation for patriotic/political purposes, knowing that Netanyahu was likely to put forward some unacceptable red lines?

For narrow Bibi prefers his narrow politics. But in several days the public pressure might overwhelm him

I see a fair degree of the posters here who fail to understand context. I said I hope the civilian population with move to Sinai as I hoped we would topple Hamas and I don't want them in the crossfire. Not that I want them permanently banished.

This board is a sh**t show. Full of woke kids who never lifted a finger to do anything and pass judgment based on their minimal knowledge and the ideology they got on the back of a short reading list in college.

There's a core of good posters here, even those who take a more pro-Hamas view here. But in total this board is in a steady downfall since 2016
