Working at Target I can tell you that we have strict limits on essential items now, panic buying has pretty much been banned. I can tell you this cause I’ve been verbally harassed and berated over the past few weeks upholding them. But guess what? Those customers can get f**ked. Done being polite.

Besides toilet paper and cleaning supplies, what are people trying to hoard?

Today at Walmart I noticed absences of TP/PT, bleach, ammo, eggs, hot dogs, gatorade, rice, and canned fruit. Walmart brand of certain things like tylenol, guaifenesin, spaghetti and grits were all gone but more expensive brands were available. Milk and Bread aisles were stocked. Surprisingly still a lot of plastic sheeting. 1:6 customers wore masks. I got there at 8 and there was no line but there were a few dozen people waiting when I left.

But I'm sure calling it "chinese virus" is totally cool with you. Trump didn't take this seriously and now we may be entering a depression. Deal with it.

If your response to "LOL domestic violence, how funny!" Is to pivot back to "muh orange man racist" then onto ignore you go.

We still would have had hundreds, maybe thousands of deaths.

So top 5 populous European Countries have already almost 50k deaths, but you really think that with Hillary US "would have had hundreds, maybe thousands of deaths"? You can't be serious.

I agree, though, that Pr. Hillary would never got as good Economical Stimulus as Trump did, because evil GOP would push against it. Frankly, I don't think that Pr. Cruz or even Pr. Rubio would have managed this, either, but likely they'd get more than Hillary. Luckily, (R) Populist Trump won.

These are the same hacks that claim "if only Al Gore had won, the terrorists never would have succeeded on 9/11." Its all a fantasy to them.

WSJ should be embarrassed for publishing this dog crap and paying this moron. A journalist and "economist" with zero medical credentials belittling the advice of medical experts and accusing them of a waging a "war" on the economy? Get the fkcu out of here with that. I think COVID-19 will be a crystallizing moment for the country, when it finally realizes its had just about enough of the right wing's war on expertise and knowledge.

And yet, doctors with no economic background can insist on shutting down the world for indefinite periods of time, ruining billions of lives in the process, and that's fine because muh M.D.

I will gladly take a slight risk to my health to go enjoy my life with friends/coworkers/etc.
For the fourteen thousandth f__king time...

You are putting the health (and lives) OF OTHERS at risk, not just your own. You are potentially commiting manslaughter.

Scientists, doctors and epidemiologists agree with my statement. Your decision to not take it seriously is you turning your back on science/reality. Sadly, science and reality will not their back on you. It is possible and somewhat likely that your betrayal of your community will ultimately kill somebody due to your wrecklessness. Maybe more than one person. All because you wanted to act like a rebellious teenager. Disgusting...

This applies to literally everything based on this broken logic yall have been derping about for a month no matter how attenuated. You think germs DONT spread during flu season? You think we aren't putting other lives at risk anytime we drive a car, fart, or organize a labor union rally? Its all hypothetical statistical models on paper. You may give heavier weight to a 0.36% chance of death but that's your business. Its broken logic to claim "oh you may choose to risk it but that increases others risk ... that means you are deciding for them ... so we have decided for you!" At least with what I want at risk populations can CHOOSE to stay quarantined. If you expect me to be ashamed because I support true CHOICE over government coercion, it just aint gonna happen. There have already been manipulative alarmists carrying this to its logical conclusion that if OMG we MUST demand everyone surrender their tangible liberty to "save" hypothetical, on paper people models ... that means gun control, Medicare for all, open borders, fracking bans ... do what we say or else u r a MURDERER! No really look at our paper models!

If the options are people choose for themselves or the government chooses for you, I'm supporting the people.

no amount of money is worth human lives

If Ford determined it could save 5 lives per year by adding a car part to each car that cost an extra $1 million per unit, should they? Is it murder if they don't?

All over the country, there are portions of stores that people are prohibited from buying from. In Michigan, by Gov Whitmer's executive order, this includes home improvement and gardening.

https://www.bridgemi.com/michigan-government/what-michigans-new-coronavirus-stay-home-executive-order-means
Quote
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s latest stay-home order to battle the coronavirus pandemic allows home improvement stores to stay open, but only to sell “products necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation and basic operations of residences.”

The new regulations required Home Depot to close its paint section, flooring section and outdoor gardening center by Friday morning.

Tillery, a Lansing resident who already lost his job as a floor layer, has been “trying to make ends meet” during the pandemic by picking up side jobs as a handyman, providing what he said are emergency repairs in a time of crisis.

Paint was supposed to be one of the last steps in his current project: fixing a home after a tree crashed through the roof, damaging the ceiling and causing water damage.

Now, he’s not sure he can finish the job, so he planned to snap a photo of the closed paint section to show his client as proof.

Not sure how I feel about this. Outdoor gardening is a way for people to keep themselves in good mental health while having to stay home for such a long period of time.

I do question the severity of the restrictions on outdoor activities in some states.  Particularly as it gets hot, people will need to be able to go outside or there will be a spike in deaths from heat stroke.

Gardening keeps people at home. My locality is delivering 500 home gardening kits directly to houses this month for citizens who register online. We were supposed to distribute them at a community event this month so we already have them built and onhand.

Why is literally everything a conspiracy theory to the Red Avatars?

Seems like some of them demanded elections be cancelled because people might stand too close and now claim that its actually the other side trying to cancel elections because something something Postal pensions?

Do you know the difference between cancelling an election and postponing it?

I know that failing to waive pension funding rules for the Post Office is neither.

Remember when Andrew Cuomo was screaming about how he needs 40k ventilators? (“You pick the 26,000 who are going to die”)

Turns out NY didn’t anything near that, just as Trump said. Now, Cuomo and company are giving away ventilators cause they got too much

http://www.foxnews.com/us/cuomo-says-new-york-giving-away-some-ventilators-coronavirus-outbreak-stabilized-there.amp

Why doesn’t anyone call out Cuomo on his overdramatic nonsense? He overdramatized to grab headlines and make himself look good.

The media is the one building up the overblown hype... why would they ever report that they or anyone overreacted? Ive already seen responses from alarmists that deliberate overhype was "necessary" to scare people into obeying authority ...

Oh no, time to back off quarantine orders, Republican donors are bankrolling astroturf campai.... - Wait, I mean, legitimate grassroots protests against big gubmint!

Is this supposed to suggest that every single protester was paid to protest? Really don't see how it matters if the Facebook invite was sent by Jim Bob Smith or OpenAmericaPAC, what matters is the number of participants. This "astroturf" nonsense which I recall seeing for the first time in 2006 as an Anti Soros slogan has never really made me doubt the convictions of protest participants. In 2010 HuffPo kept going on and on about how the Tea Parties were "fake" protests because political groups paid for buses to transport protesters. If they aren't literally paying protesters its dumb to claim muh fake astroturf just because a PAC made it easier for Jim Bob to get to the protest.

OK, thread derailing won't be tolerated.

Also, not responding to trolls would be most helpful.

Could you and your fellow moderators please do a better job deleting comments that are clearly trolling, and punishing those responsible? I'm disgusted by the commentary downplaying or making a joke out of the fact that tens of thousands of people have died. If I had lost to someone from COVID, I'd be absolutely enraged to see such foolishness being posted on this forum with impunity. I've reported multiple posts and yet nothing seems to change.

"Downplaying" aka disagreeing with an opinion is not a TOS violation.

Yeah if people were truly feeling economic insecurity then they'd be demanding or demonstrating for more direct government assistance.

If you're feeling economically insecure but you're choosing "liberating Wisconsin" or whatever over more cash assistance then you're using economic need arguments as a false pretense.

IDK man I've definitely had posts deleted on this site for "downplaying" your intelligence.

Cool story bro.

Florida beaches set to re-open in a few hours, will only be open for 5 morning hours and 4 evening hours every day.

The Ron DeSantis Clown Show continues.

Florida has a decent testing situation so I'm not in arms about this.
BRUH

If people stand more than 6 feet apart at the beach is it really an issue?

It really seems like some of these super strict quarantine rules are more mean-spirited politics than anything. I read one Article where a girl was playing basketball ALONE in a small park so the local government came and removed the basketball goal. Stuff like that and the "no buying certain stuff thats at Walmart even if you are already at Walmart" policies and the ban on home gardening sales (literally a hobby that REQUIRES people to stay on a stationary piece of land) really seem like nothing more than decisions designed to make things feel worse. Its like when Obama had them rope off scenic parking areas from which you could view Mt. Rushmore that required no staff maintenance during the 2013 shutdown as though a shutdown means you cant even passively LOOK at National monuments. Had nothing to do with the lapse of funds and everything to do with "see how inconvenient it is when you dont give government its budget".

So if say there were 5 people walking on the beach and they are 20 feet apart, should they be harrassed by LEOs and if so, what for?

“Disgusting to arrest people for breaking the law.”

As they let thieves and drug dealers OUT of jail and are hesitant to arrest for most other crimes. They really aren't even pulling people over for speeding. Yeah, its disgusting to focus on criminalizing obvious first amendment protected activities.

Plus you really aren't gonna convince me that protesting is merely "breaking the law".

Any cop doing so should be publicly shamed just like any doctor punitively denying medical care to people for protesting should at minimum never be allowed to practice medicine again and ideally should go to jail. People advocating for denying medical care to protesters are some words I won't type out or else Id get infracted.

Those Trumptards with their guns, rifles and machine guns on the steps of the MI state capitol should be arrested for violating the law, for not wearing masks and for endangering others with their stupid actions. But before that ... they should be hosed down by a water cannon truck.

What the hell are u talking about Bull Connor?
