(Sincerity warning) Yeah, I think the last couple days have done it for me. For everything I've half-jokingly said on the forum, I would probably have held my nose and voted for Biden — it's important to decisively repudiate Trump and hand the Democratic nominee as large a victory as possible, for a peaceful transition of power if nothing else. But scuttling a climate debate as the Amazon burns? If Joe wins, I'm voting for Howie Hawkins — and I'm telling everyone I know, swing state or not, to do the same.

>He says after Biden says a town is in a state 5 miles away that arguably is far more similar to the town than the state it is actually in.
This doesn't matter — he was there to campaign in the New Hampshire primary. If he thinks it's in Vermont, suggests he may be forgetting the point of why he's there. Which is concerning!

It's a cruel campaign whose sole purpose is to humiliate the former VP.
Weird, I kinda get the feeling that all of it would stop if the former VP was not an active candidate for President.

As much as I love that post, I feel it's getting a bit past its sell by date.
Unfortunately, so is Joe Biden

This is yet another thinly veiled ageist attack. Joe Biden is fine, and his age should not be a disqualifying factor. I'm not sure why people are so outraged about older people running for office. Joe Biden is able to serve in the office of President, if elected, and that is all that should matter

It's an open attack! Please do not suggest that I am attempting to veil my disdain for Joe Biden.

That said, I think "ageism" may be the kinder message here. If you're not going to excuse this sort of thing as dementia, for instance, the only explanation can be that he is a liar:

First of all, what he have to do is go back and turn back all the changes that in fact the president has made, from CAFE standards to moving in the direction that we in fact deal with providing people who get displaced opportunities to have jobs by sending them back to school, by doing continuing education, whole range of things. I would see to it in the first, immediately, moving toward, you know we're in fact in a position now that if in fact we dealt with mitigation across the board, just what we did in the last administration and before, leading to a standard that we provide efficiency for appliances.

here is a post to kick this thread over to another page so that we don't have to deal with that oversized picture screwing up the formatting

The Biden quote Virginia posted perfectly illustrates the generation divide over Biden's support.  Anyone old enough to be a parent knows you're supposed to make sure your kids hear as many words as possible from a young age so the language part of their brain develops more.  Kamala Harris also mentioned this last night.  But 18-29s just see that and go "lol make sure the kids hear words"
i don't think you understand which part of that quote is funny

I thought it was remarkably coherent!

Exposition: Joe takes the job at the pool
Inciting incident: Gang called the Romans, led by Corn Pop, dominate the pool (an inherent tension with Joe's position of authority)
Conflict: Joe yells at Corn Pop and calls him Esther Williams
Stakes: Joe is informed that Corn Pop will be waiting with his rusty straight razor
Climax: Corn Pop confronts Joe, Joe apologizes
Falling action: Corn Pop puts the razor away
Denouement: The Romans have Joe's back for the rest of the summer

O'DONNELL: You will be 77 in November. Is that too old to be president?
BIDEN: No. I just say (unintelligible) watch me. Just– j– j– just watch.

Why must we merge every single thread into a "megathread"? Is it not okay to have different threads on different topics?
