Regarding ME, major ticket splitting appears to be in play in favor of Collins.  But she is running below 50 right now.

What would the next step be if Collins ends up with say 49%?

Would go to ranked choice voting--and I assume she would prevail.  Gideon has a 6 point deficit to make up.  Hopefully, she can close it and win it in the RCV.

A margin of that size, and with the frontrunner at 49%, very rarely gets overturned.

It's kind of amazing all the lengths Trump has gone to:

1) Getting Kanye on the ballot

2) Slowing down the post office

3) Suing to stop vote counting

4) Massive misinformation campaign in South Florida

Wouldn't the more direct route to re-election have been to deal with the pandemic responsibly?  

It is really remarkable... if he just sent out some more Trump Bucks^TM and told everyone to stay home for a bit longer, this would have been a complete blowout.

Trump could have simply unveiled a line of Trump-branded facemasks and offered them for sale during a daily press conference, and then told his supporters he wants them alive and healthy so they could attend his tremendous rallies and vote to keep America great.

Why he didn't do this is really incomprehensible.

Most of them were expecting a quick victory, allowing them to get ample and sound sleep. Many of them did.

Then they woke to the news that Wisconsin flipped due to black people in Milwaukee voting fraud, and then the news that 1.5 million almost entirely Democratic mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania seemingly came from thin air. Then came the flip in Michigan, caused by black people in Detroit more fraud. News from Georgia and Arizona depressed their spirits further.

If Biden won a 413 landslide on election night, it would have been the equivalent of a shot to the head. But this drawn-out turn of events was death by a thousand cuts. It was definitely much worse than how Democrats felt in 2016.

Nope. Go to Twitter. Don himself has been circulating rumours of votes being made up overnight, and vowing to defend himself. In Detroit, they were gathered outside the convention center chanting "stop the count". In Phoenix, they're chanting "count the votes".

The current margin in PA is 164,414.

Philly is now about 70% in. Trump + Biden current total = 571,552.

That implies that there are 244,000 mail in votes left in Philly.

Up until now, VBM in PA has been Biden +68%.

This means from Philly alone, Biden can expect to gain 166,000 votes.

That's just enough to erase the gap.

These protestors are being very terrible right now. Being a poll worker is stressful enough. Having to worry about protestors outside is just undesirable.

The biggest shifts weren't by region, race, age, or any of that.  It was education.  The GOP is quickly turning into the party of dummies.

And this is precisely why we got the result that we did. You wonder why Trump's supporters are so dead set against Democrats now? It's this kind of condescension that only intensifies their loyalty to him and to Republicans.
