Well, he probably gets into run-off (Republicans are extremely weak in SF, and there are enough wild-eyed idiots ready to vote for him there). But he has zero chances in general.

Especially considering California's Top-Two system, it would be really amusing if the Democrats take the House but Pelosi is primaried on the same night. What happens next? Would Hoyer's dream of attaining the Speakership finally be within his grasp?

Not that Pelosi is in any real danger from this.

The ideal scenario is Hoyer loses in a primary and it eases/scares Pelosi into retirement.

Even ultraliberal Pelosi is "not enough" for present day Democrats. Funny. REALLY funny.

The neoliberal Pelosi is an "ultra liberal" to smoltchanov. Funny. REALLY funny.

For me - absolutely. I am substantially more conservative then she is. But there is such thing as ratings. Pelosi always came in top 10-15% of most liberal Democratic congressmen in ANY ratings - liberal, conservative, whatever. It's only crazies like you may consider her to be anything else, but very liberal. You want to be crazy? Fine, it's YOUR choice...

According to Govtrack, she was the 153rd most liberal member of the House in 2016.

Also,

Endorsed anyway, but yeah, there's gonna be no run-off.

Uh, runoffs in CA happen regardless of if a candidate reaches 50%.

That's stupid. I can't see any reason for that to be the case, and I bet it costs a ton of money in noncompetitive districts.

More conservative then Scott Peters and Patrick Murphy??? I had very good laugh....

Okay, since you're clearly having trouble in this department, I'll explain this to you in layman's terms: Pelosi is indeed a liberal; however, I am not a liberal, and find it unacceptable that someone who represents a hotbed of left-wing activism like San Francisco has a net worth of 100+ million dollars and can't even commit to Medicare for All.

So, anyone representing SF must be pauper and communist?Huh?

Having less than 100 million dollars makes one a "pauper"? Supporting universal healthcare makes one a "communist"? My god, arguing with you is like arguing with a brick wall.

Don't argue then. I have a brick-solid set of convictions))))

In what world is Pelosi not liberal enough? This idea of connecting ideology to income is silly, since some of the poorest members of the House are quite conservative. Raul Labrador has a negative net worth, but he still voted for AHCA and insisted that no one dies because of lack of health care.

Remember that Pelosi said this:

And i fully support her on this. I am capitalist too.... "Socialism" is a dirty word among Russians, who spent some time in the West. "Communism" - even more.

Why is it always a male progressive challenging a female centrist? Of all the candidates we have been asked to support since November

Ellison
Jaffe
Eisen
Ossoff
Mello
Quist
Carmona (until the very end)

All men. Do progressives think women can't win since Hillary lost?

The irony is Hillary wasn't a progressive any more then Pelosi. Probably - less...
