I guess it's a bit of an unfair competition given that the city proper in Pittsburgh is in much, much better shape.

I'd say it falls in between, but closer to Detroit in the sense that there are very few professional class people in the city proper.

Cleveland has some very nice streetcar suburbs though and some excellent cultural institutions such as its art museum and symphony orchestra.

The city of Detroit also covers a large land area.  So the few square miles of downtown/midtown that's undergoing revitalization only represents a small part of it.
