Let's say that tomorrow Joe Lieberman suffers a massive heart attack. While doctors expect him to make full recovery, he will be in the hosiptal for several weeks. Due to this, Lieberman withdraws from the race but gives a shocking announcement:
"I am very concerned with the state of the Democratic Party. It has drifted so far leftward that I can't fault moderate Democrats from voting for Republicans. Therefore to send a message to our party, I urge all Connecticut voters to vote for the Republican candidate in this race."
Also, who would win if Schelsinger were replaced by a stronger candidate such as Rep. Rob Simmons or Nancy Johnson (with Lieberman's endorsement)?
My predictions: Lamont 56, Schlesinger 44 (not sure how I'd vote) Lamont 51, Simmons/Johnson 49 (I'd vote GOP)
