I don't get the HP votes. I have some political disagreements with her, but she's overall a very agreeable and kind poster, and that's kind of rare online, where people are often intentionally mean to get a reaction out of others. I'll definitely take someone who tries not to stir the pot over someone who always wants to do so just to entertain themselves by pissing off other people.

Likely a mixture of folks who think that I'm (a) actually a forty-year old white guy in his mom's basement.

Fwiw, I do not think you are a four-year-old guy living in your mom's basement. Paragraph I guess somewhere in the early to mid 50s. Besides, you probably moved out when your mom couldn't understand the special relationship with your hentai pillow.

It's absurd that Badger, who at one time was a quality poster, is now so lazy he doesn't bother to check, let alone revise, what his speech-to-text generator has produced before hitting post.

Too be fair, a few posts before that he admitted he was posting drunk.

What he said was that he hasn't had a beer all week. I don't think that implies drunk posting, however, real ones drink spirits and wine so maybe he left us a red herring.

While his atrocious speech-to-text generator gives the impression of drunkenness, apathy is a more likely explanation. Perverse stubbornness on his part is the other probable explanation for his continuation of his widely ridiculed posting method.

Probably the weirdest post of all time:

Due to life span increase, approaching 80, there is an adjustment

RED growth process, blue early signs of death

Infancy: 0-3
Toddler 3-6 Early childhood
Childhood 3-12 Pre-Teen
Puberty: 12-20 Adams apple in Men, and Cycle for women
Adulthood 20-40 continiue to grow.

Middle Aged 40-65 stoppage of growth, tooth decay and fuller stomach and diabetes sets in
Senior Citizen 65-100 end of life cycle, seizers, heart attacks or cancer causes death

See, I tell you all OC is a weirdo, but no one listens to me.
Because you're twelve.

If I were twelve, I would have been banned years ago for registering underage.

I am NOT Twelve. I am 27. I was born in 1993, and I'm not sure what I have to do to prove it to you. Do I have to post my birth certificate?

That didn't help Obama.

Depressing reminder of how long ago the 90s were.

It's also astonishing to realize that next year will be the 20th anniversary of 9/11, and that it has been 12 years since Obama won his first term. Time really has gone by fast.

The last four years have been rather slow.

I hope Andrew Yang is not chosen as the commerce secretary.

He created the virus and inserted in animals in the Wuhan wet markets. He created the virus for the sole purpose of instituting his UBI agenda. He should not be rewarded for creating a global pandemic.

I'm sorry, but how is that not an infractable offense (I'm thinking it would fall under Bigotry/Hatefulness.)

Apparently it's a "joke"

Like Yang?

Frankly, I never understood why anyone took Yang seriously enough to either support or oppose him.

Definitely absurd as is the entire premise of the thread:

BRTD, you are not the target audience for this Australian show. (They flew the cast and contestants to Australia as they could film there.)
There exists lots of Australian emo and hardcore.

In 2096 when a Democrat finally wins VA, the Democrats here will all say "I told you it was trending Democrat!".

To be fair, in 2004 Virginia swung Democratic but trended Republican. I don't think anyone could reasonably expect the state would become as solidly (Atlas) red as it has so soon. The absurdity is simply from assuming it would remain solidly blue until the end of the century.

How would you measure the degree to which something is "more a social construct" than something else?

Gender roles are clearly based on the natural biological differences between the sexes. Do you think that racial roles in our society are the product of natural biological differences between the races?

The idea that gender roles are biologically determined is heavily overblown.

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/prehistoric-female-hunter-discovery-upends-gender-role-assumptions

The biological fact is that we males are only needed as sex objects.

oh bite me, i've been a member of this forum for so long and never before have I been attacked.  When I came out as trans on here, it became Open Season on me... I've thought about leaving this place so many times.
I didn't even know you were trans. Does not change the fact that the word "transgender" was very much in use well before 1985, even if it was not the most commonly used term at the time. Like for example here's a documentary film actually made in 1985 that uses the term: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_Sex_Am_I%3F

I found out about "trans" in 2003, but I was also only in mid-teens at the time, and I would have not heard it before.  I didn't even hear the word "transsexual" - maybe I saw it on a Jerry Springer show or something but I didn't really process it in my head what that meant... so yes I do feel the word was spoken before but I mean in context of it being used so commonly by the Politicians and in our national media stories...
I would say that the late 2000s (2007-2008-2009) was really just the beginning of the modern day trans movement as it seems like now... and back then it was all of these human interest stories on CNN and talk shows and the documentaries in particular on channels like Discovery Health.  It was not a political issue at all because Gay Marriage was taking up all the room in the LGBTQ world.  After Obergefell, it seemed the trans issues came to the forefront.

sorry to lash out at you - i don't mean to attack anyone - i just feel that sometimes this forum gets nasty and I don't want to wind up attacking anyone or making anyone feel badly because the Forum can be a positive place but I guess I too sometimes am too sarcastic or use humor that might offend people, so  i do apologize

You never watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show?
