If he has done what he is alleged to have done, then depending on how the "giving them Aid and Comfort" clause is iinterpreted he could be guilty of treason, tho given how he allegedly did it, it may be difficult to meet the two witness requirement found in the constitution.  If we used the death penalty more broadly than we do today, I could see myself supporting Manning's execution, but not given how it is currently used.

No because he's too lowly of a person to have given Assange all that information.

Well Jonathan Pollard should gave gotten the death penalty.  Not only did he disclose more important data, he benefited financially from what he did as well.
