Depends on the internal climate of the Marxist-Leninist state in question. There's obviously a big difference between Cuba from 1961 to 1971 and the USSR from 1923 to 1953, for instance.

Right, it's not a 'serious question' to ask whether or not someone would prefer living in a country where they have a guaranteed right to a job, medical care, housing, etc. or one in which they only have partial or compromised access to *some* of those things.
