It's not as if the Trump administration doesn't have several hundred empty executive branch positions with no nominees submitted for approval.

There is no "department of discrimination".

-He could be appointed Deputy Secretary of Education or something like that.

Or he can replace you on Atlas. This still would be a major improvement.

-What do you have against me, anyway, Semon Dye?

Hopefully hard and exculpatory evidence.

I think he met "inculpatory", but...

Imho this forum is by far the best place i have ever seen regarding useful and manifold online debates around the world of politics, including a nearly unlimited amount of participants.

Not academical debate rules, ofc, but still better opinions and more evidence-based discussions - besides the usual trolls, which you can find everywhere and which are still more origina herel than on other boards.

I mean, compared to politicalforum.com or the various partisan sites, he's not wrong.

ETA:

Thankfully, actual leadership under Perez will help end the cronyism of the Democratic Party (not sarcastic or ironic).

This thread is about France, not Austria.

Yes, but they have similar voting patterns.

Please do not delete stuff that don't fit your personal world-view. There's freedom of speech, no matter if you like that fact or not. Don't behave like Islamo-Fascist Erdogan and the likes ... Thx.

Frankly, given how kids can go through phases, I think it should be illegal for kids to do anything to try to change which gender they appear as (...).

I want to make some sort of joke about the theological and social conservatism of Korean Christianity as a reaction against the more liberal ideas of Japanese Protestant leaders during the occupation, but I don't think anybody other than me would find it funny.

"Your own paycheck" is only your own because the State has built institutions that makes it possible for social parasites like you to accumulate wealth at the expense of everybody else. The State giveth and the State taketh away.

I love it when someone who wants free stuff calls someone who works 60-70 hours a week a "social parasite" - you are the definition of pathetic.

Have you considered unionising?

Pretty much not funny/amusing in any way.  Socialists have such a weird sub-culture.

Do you really need to comb every thread for any mention of you or any joke people make about you? Isn't it working hours right now?

Just happened to see this here, there was a good shot as you post about me in a significant number of threads... weird obsession buddy.

But on that topic... here's a response that's actually funny, to the same post...

Suffice it to say that I totally disagree. This type of thinking is creepy, to be honest.

...I don't get it.

A lot of liberal Americans are jealous of the UK today--a snap election. A lot of liberal Americans wish that the U.S. Constitution had a amendment about a "snap election"--to force Trump and Pence out after 100 days!!!

However, midterms (midterm elections) can't come soon enough for some Americans. Other Americans don't even know what a midterm election is. They're busy watching Kardashian.

Some think of the word midterm as a midterm exam in high school or college!!!

If we had a snap election, Democrats would be wise not to run Hillary Clinton again for a snap election. Maybe Kaine, Warren, or Gillibrand.

We do not have a parliamentary system of government in the U.S. This is why America is unique to other countries. 2018, 2020 is on it's way.

If Bercow retired, can we have him as a moderator on this forum? He'd be an excellent pick.

Also posted to the simple truths thread.

There's no life in this world without death. Likewise, there's no love in this world without hate.

Oh great, as if we needed another HOT TAKE specialist in a thread like this.

Actually, if this take remains hot 2,500 years later, then Heraclitus has been vindicated once and for all.

I'm tempted to post this in the simple truths thread but it's too subjective so I'm posting it here. pbrower really does have his moments.

But Carter would end up with problems that he could not solve, and for which Ronald Reagan offered solutions; also, the states were shifting in their partisan allegiance, but to the detriment of Jimmy Carter. Maybe not the solutions that many Americans would not have liked at the time, but the 1984 election suggested that Reagan did a lot of things right, like lowering many Americans' expectations. Oh, you have a college degree and you hate your job in retail or fast food, but your low pay even worse? There is a solution -- take another such job to supplement your meager earnings, and always remember to show that moronic "Delighted to serve you!" smile! People taking second jobs that they hated as much as their ill-paid first jobs solved lots of economic problems.

Happy May Day, everyone.

I think there are some similarities, simply because purism vs. pragmatism and experience vs. outsider battles are common among all parties, whether R/D or third party.

That said, John McAfee = Scott Walker is one of the weirdest comparisons you could have made.

I think the 2017 UK snap election is like 2001. A bit boring, which could hurt voter turnout. Voters may be apathetic and say, "Tories will win again, yawn, I'll stay home, it doesn't matter, May, Corbyn, they are all the same".

Great news.  People keep complaining the administration is supposedly staffed with people who don't know what they're doing.  But Trump and Kobach are real experts when it comes to fraud, so I expect this to be a high quality operation.

Yes, I watch sports and was a Cubs and Cavs and Packers fan. However, since moving to the Sunbelt like CA, I am a Raiders, Dubs and Dodgers fan.

I hate to have to explain a joke, but there are just so many levels here this is some peak content.

>Changing allegiances
>San Francisco=Sunbelt
>Switching the favourite NBA team between the only two legitimate NBA teams that actually exist
>The Raiders will not even play in California in one year, and that was selected as the new favourite team with this knowledge despite three other options existing

I'm probably missing some more jokes in this because this is just so well written it blows my mind.

Also, somebody in San Francisco picking the Dodgers over the Giants.

Eventually we will be taken care of cradle to grave by corporations. We will be born in corporate hospitals, get health care through the corporation, live in corporate homes, be driven by corporate cars, retire on corporate pensions (again). Our thoughts, friendships, behavior patterns, relationships, both individual and collective, will be monitored, understood, and predicted by the corporation. The corporations will establish a paradise on earth, with no murder, rape, loneliness, addiction, car accidents, or anything. Our data-driven lives will be healthy eating, healthy living, healthy socializing. And it will be better. It will actually be better than what we have today.
