I know online =/= reality, but I have not seen the same white backlash reaction online for this as we did for Ferguson or Baltimore. I've seen tons of support for the protestors, much more than then.

Nor have I, reactions on my (fairly mixed) feed have been 95% positive.

This is not a natural extension of the George Floyd protests. It's the movement that's been building for a while in the anarchocommunist left. They repeatedly told us their plans if getting elected failed, and they're delivering. The response is going to be brutal, but letting them continue like this will result in something far worse.
You're losing your mind

That's high praise. You make it sound like he had one.

You're really skirting dangerous territory there, Annatar.

Skirting? He's all in.

Am I the only one that sees an implicit threat when civilians have weapons inside a legislative body?

Yea. Probably in every other functioning democracy too.

In any other functioning democracy it would've been called a coup.

Where was the overthrow of the government?

Fine, attempted coup.

What a queen!

The mayor of Atlanta goes off on TV, full-on yelling into the camera at the rioters and looters while supporting the peaceful protestors.

How completely useless. More time scolding people for property destruction than instructing the police to stop instigating violence. These mayors aren't on the sidelines, they are in positions of power and should be held just as accountable to the deaths as the police.

She had Killer Mike up there with her backing up every word she said. I guess Killer Mike is pro cop too now? Please be quiet. Harming private businesses would be especially counterproductive here in Atlanta because (As mayor Bottoms so eloquently put it) so many are black owned.

Ive been saying since we locked down in April that I wasn’t scared of the virus, but rather the civil unrest that would be the end result.

Well well well....

This was all so predictable.

I'm still way more scared of the virus.

Why. You are 29 years old. Do you have asthma or diabetes? Or are you scared for others?

I have two loved ones who are very prone to infection from COVID, no loved ones who are cops or protesters, so yeah.

I love how you guys post about police being "out of control". If anyone ever knew real cops, you'd know they're using enormous restraint.

I agree with Mike.

Even though there are some black sheep in the police force, 99.99% are doing an awesome job and risk a lot, if not their lives on a daily basis:

Police work should be valued more and not just being attacked when there are some dark moments.

Lol the number is MUCH lower than 99.99%.

OK, I give you the 0.1%

But 99.9% of police officers are decent folks who happen to be under enormous pressure during some tasks every day (I'm not too shocked at how some react, considering how many crazy people are around on the streets and at home in the US ...)

Maybe in Austria they're all perfect. It's more like 50/50 here.
