Transmission leak again. It may be my transportation situation, more than anything else, that pushes me to move into a Real PersonTM job. Been driving this barrel of trash around since 2014 and it's caused nothing but trouble.

I haven't degenerated nearly this much, but on day four of working from home I am wearing soccer pants and a hoodie, and this worries me.

As I mentioned in the relapse thread, all the progress I reported about my brother proved to be shattered within a few hours of posting it.

I’m really, truly sorry to hear that, Sanchez. God bless.

Sanchez, this may be the wrong time to ask this, but have you ever read Infinite Jest? I only ask because a substantial portion of its 1000+ pages is devoted to characters in a halfway house.

Rejected from my choice schools. Hoping to change jobs soon so hopefully this is all irrelevant.

I guess it doesn't matter or whatever, but I'm currently living with my gf and I start my first full time job on Monday. It took long enough after I graduated college (2 months) but it feels like it's finally paying off.

Took me ‘til August after graduation in May of that same year. Tongue Journalism, right?

I was offered a fellowship today right when I’m in the process of trying to sell out. Not happy about this.

I've decided to begin learning computer coding and programming via online sources. My BA in Sociology simply isn't amounting to much career-wise. Although I've landed a job that, when I take and (hopefully) pass my national exam, will increase my pay to $16.30/hr, that's certainly not enough to make for a comfortable life or pay off my student loans. Not to mention that I don't want to do this particular job forever.

Feel ya there, brother. Hoping to upgrade jobs soon and, if not, I may sell out to a fellowship at a low ranked local school.

In a bit of a pickle between a fellowship at a lower ranked university and turning it down in order to apply for a professional position after I get my master's degree (said position has hired tons of graduates from my program, but I'm a pessimist). I'm trying to think of a scheme where I can balance both an academic and professional career, but I'm not sure in what order I'd do things and what is most advisable.

A vegan tacos order yesterday and some decaf Tim Horton's today are saving my Lent.

Had my first lesson driving stick about an hour ago.

After getting told I lacked the requisite experience for a job, I made some calls to HR and today I got a call back where an HR consultant told me (after he looked up my resume) there were some things there making me worthy of reconsideration. Hoping I get the news back before 4/15, which is the deadline for me accepting funding for a full-time grad program.

Taking an exam for a job tomorrow. Still not sure if I’d take the job over the fellowship.

Starting today I am taking the initiate to improve my health. I am phasing out soda and junk food and I bought a bunch of varying weight dumbells and am doing more cardio. My goal weight is 195 pounds at the moment.

Lent actually began last Wednesday.

Will be going back to school in the fall, and as of this June/July (depending on girlfriend's schedule ... has an interview in Chicago today!), my avatar will finally make sense!  Lol

Finally getting that MBA? Or gonna be a real Chad and do financial economics?

Lol, MBA.  Got the GMAT waiver this spring, so I pulled the trigger.  Probably the right time career-wise for me.

I thought this seemed very early for that type of program, but then I realized you're old! 2.5 years older? I thought it was one! No wonder why you used "LOL" so much.

Everyone knows you should get your first graduate degree by age 24. Tongue

Plow both fields and plant teh marijuana.

What’s the pay/benefits/promotion path in the job(s) you’re seeking and would the fellowship and subsequent delay in financial benefit eventually result in making up the delayed pay?

Look at me...an ENFP telling an ISTJ how to think rationally Tongue. Purple heart ya Cath

I mean, I’ve gone through the pros and cons in an informal manner. Taking up far more space than money on the scale are sleep schedule, freedom, and vacation time. I’d be working nights at the job and I’m already enough of a recluse as it is, for example. I can also theoretically reapply to either in the future, the posting for the job has been continually up for like a year and they’ve been hiring since at least 2017.

CEO stopped by my office on my last day of work to wish me well. Still pretty surreal to get the job I’ve been after for two years. Hoping this isn’t a prank or a misinterpretation.

Start a new job and U Oregon finally decides to let me in. Would’a been nice to hear back sooner, bro. The pay crap anyway.

Turned down the offer from Oregon and turned down my local school fellowship. Stings, but this looks like the best path for now.

Walked out of my last final. Outside of that, all I need is to complete the thesis for this degree. Onto the next one.
