Johnson now has more money on hand than Lightfoot.

Vallas got the endorsement of the Chicago Tribute.

However, there is also a clip now being circulated of Vallas claiming to be anti-choice:

Quote
The endorsement comes on the heels of Jesus “Chuy” Garcia making news Thursday with a video calling out Vallas for comments he made on abortion. The video shows Vallas in his own words, saying, “Fundamentally, I oppose abortion” and “I’m more of a Republican than a Democrat.”

Chuy? Idk man you should have won this race. I enthusiastically supported him against Rahm, and I’m just stunned he came out so flat this year.

I really don't get it, he allowed Lightfoot to destroy him unopposed for months. Just bizarre.

I could be wrong, but looking at the map below, I think Johnson cleans up in the black neighborhoods.

Johnson seems to be winning the late mail ballots. This is like the 3rd batch of late votes he’s won.

How many of these kinds of ballots are there?

They've counted 44,645 since 3/2 and reported around 130K still needed to be counted before hand.

Vallas now down to 33.0%, Johnson up to 21.6%. Vallas may dip to 31-32 while Johnson could jump to 22-23 when all is said and done.

Johnson's Northside blob and his Hyde Park blog keep getting bigger as more votes are counted.

What does the blue mean? Votes for Chicago's homemade version of Bronz.
What does the green mean? Well, that's most black precincts in the city.
What does the orange mean? That's most Latino precincts in the city.
But,
What does the red mean?

The most progressive white people.

These are also some of the most desegregated neighborhoods in the city.

The coming months are gonna be hard on Vallas as all his conservative rhetoric is going on trial in one of the most liberal cities in the country where Biden won every ward. This doesn’t mean that he’s out or that they’re aren’t conservative democrats in Chicago, they’re definitely are just look at Wilson’s numbers, but they’re not the majority.

FYI, the election is on April 4th. Same day as the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Not sure why Pritzker just doesn't endorse Johnson at this point. Also not sure how any Dem would vote for Vallas at this point, given he's sh*t on basically every major Dem now.

It's not like Johnson is a generic D. He's on the left fringes of the party and was a pretty vocal defund the police supporter (and kind of still is). I don't think Pritzker wants to be associated with either of them, especially since if he runs for President he'll have to field constant questions about crime in Chicago.

Vallas is also an institution in Chicago. He's been prominent for 25 years at this point and surely has a working relationship with the public face of the Chicago billionaire family. I think that's what's buying Vallas endorsements across racial and ideological lines. The big players know him on a personal level but probably don't for Johnson.

Unless he was busy destroying New Orleans and Philadelphia schools.

New Victory Research poll has Vallas lead at 2, down 3 points from 3/10. Johnson starting to get the massive margins he needs in the black neighborhoods.
