Hey remember this morning when everyone was freaking out about Election Day turnout?

Twitter needs to just f***ing ban him already.

"Mr. Trump put the GOP in a funk." That's a phrase I thought of about an hour ago. Trump's childish refusal to concede and his promotion of insane conspiracy theories are the major factor driving tonight's results in Georgia. McConnell's refusal to take up the bolstered stimulus checks was an additional nail in the coffin. If Republicans don't disavow Trump after this, then I don't know what to say.
I really don’t think Trump’s behavior was that decisive. This is looking like it was basically turnout driven.

Sounds like I made the right choice in forgetting today was election day until about two hours ago.
I’m going to be honest, I fell for it a little. Like I was very confident based on EV (which iirc was showing a more heavily AA electorate than the same point in November) but started getting bummed out early on.

You have to admit that Mark Kirk was a good guy. Easily the most liberal Republican Senator this decade.
This isn't relevant to the thread but Mark Kirk ran a racist campaign against Tammy Duckworth in the closing weeks. Not a "good guy" by any means even if he is better than most if not all of his Republican colleagues.

He had a stroke that completely messed up his brain. Mark was extremely sharp before that, winning reelection to his House seat by 6 points in the middle of a massive Democratic wave year as Obama carried it with 61%. That speaks volumes about how strong he was.

Kindly do not blame a racist election campaign on a stroke.

Hey remember his first election where he bragged about sending out people to intimidate voters in Chicago, the Metro-East, and Rockford? (the three places in IL with significant black populations) Nothing racist about that.

Watched Brett Baier interview him today. Not impressive and I'm not just saying that because I hate him. Trumpist Romney charisma wise at best, extremely boring, no oomph.

Yes. He will flop. He won in 2018 because of partisanship alone.
To be fair, he seems to be the only politician that gets that social conservative/economic left is the largest ‘getable’ voting block in the country by allot. And that he can pander by attacking eg. Walmart and Google on social media while enriching them in actual policy and no one notices.

However, 0 charisma. It’s just the sad state of MO politics that he and Blunt have political careers.

How could anyone have voted for Dem Senators and a Republican Public Service Commissioner?

Clear the Democrat Brian kemp stole this election!

Apparently Lauren is a guy, what's with southerners with feminine names?
I was wondering why a woman was called ‘Bubba’

The data was all in some favor for the Democrats, but after the 2020 election it's hard to see how they pull it off. Biden may have won the state but it still voted well to the right of the nation and Republicans got more votes than Democrats in the 2020 Senatorial contests. I'm posting this after the election has already taken place and I have not looked at the results. I just have a dark feeling that, whether by a squeaker or not, the R's have won. Even if somehow the result was split between Perdue/Warnock that still means that Cocaine Mitch, not Biden, is going to be the most powerful man in the world this year.

I don't plan on actually looking at the results anytime soon. I plan to distract myself away from this topic. I have no optimism that Democrats have won but I don't feel like confirming this after waking on the wrong side of the bed.

You know, I think the media is becoming increasingly irresponsible with how conservative they are about calling races given the current climate in which faith in the electoral system is being undermined. We know the results for all practical purposes, dragging it out just fuels the ‘stealing muh election’ brigade.
