All the hotels in my 'hood are packed AF next week (I live in Crystal City).

I can automatically tell when the MAGAs are in town, because I spot them at my local Giant, CVS, and Harris Teeter walking around without masks.

It's quite hilarious how the local BLM "urban" youths are afraid of these redneck peoples, and stay away.

Or maybe they just don't want to get COVID.

Read this article (not paywalled) for more details on Trump's call with Raffensperger.  Just horrible.  Trump needs to be prosecuted for attempted election fraud after he's out of office.

Also that Raffensperger call alone should be grounds for charges. Hopefully Georgia elects a Democratic Attorney General in 2022!
Are we so polarized that we can’t trust a Republican DA to file charges if merited?
Do you really think a Republican Attorney General could charge Trump and not be dead in the water in the next primary and not have their entire political career be DOA?

Question for the resident lawyers: would this be under the jurisdiction of the Fulton County DA?  (Who happens to be a Democrat, if anyone is wondering.)

I imagine "dead in the water" in a primary would be the least of their worries, they should be worried about sleeping with the fishes.

I image that anyone sleeping with the fishes would be dead in the water. Wink

MAGA Haberman had this breathless little article/series of tweets yesterday about Rudy and John Eastman cooking up some sort of last-ditch Gohmertesque scheme for the joint session and pitching it to Trump and Pence. Is the forum consensus that that sort of thing is going nowhere, especially given Rudy's, uh, track record over the past two months?

I have no doubt they cooked up something, but I strongly doubt that Pence would go along with something really crazy, and zero doubt that it would fail if he does try it.

Shades of Pauline Kael not understanding how Nixon won in 1972 because all of her New York film critic friends were for McGovern.
Yeah it definitely happens on both sides.  I know plenty of urban-dwellers that seem shocked Trump won even a single vote in the countryside.

Yeah, but this is one not very many examples of both sides doing it. On leftist media they seem to think that everybody loves Bernie, that he would easily win general elections and that pretty much everybody agrees with their leftist views.
This is also true.  I think we can all agree there are a number of deluded people and people that can't put themselves in someone else's shoes on both sides of the aisle.

That would take some long legs. Wink

Serious question because I’m unfamiliar with definitions: Is this an act of terrorism? I understand that if it were a black person or a Muslim more people would probably be calling it terrorism, but in an objective sense is this an act of terrorism?

ter·ror·ism
/ˈterəˌrizəm/
noun

the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
    "the fight against terrorism"

In short: yes.

Watched the Senate roll, I made it 5 objecting (Cruz, Hawley, Kennedy, Marshall, Tuberville).  Some of them were hard to hear.
