I mean if the Lindsey Must Go Pac has Graham winning by a fair margin, then he is probably not going anywhere except the Senate.

True, but it's looking like Graham will be held to a single-digit margin this year, which would constitute the worst performance of his Senatorial career. As I've said elsewhere, I'm thinking that he will win by between 6 and 9 percentage points.

nice

What do you mean by this? That it would be a good thing if Graham is held to such a margin? I would agree with you there.

what about pop tarts eaten/broken into the shape of a gun?  what about hands bent in the shape of one?

If it can be mistaken for a gun, like a Nerf Gun, it should be outlawed. No reasonable person would mistake Poptarts in the shape of a gun as a gun.

As for finger/hand guns, those should be outlawed...but I'd understand if those bans were never enforced.
So what if someone is jokingly making finger guns at another person as a funny way of saying goodbye or something? Do they get a year in prison?

Probation and a fine.

No, I don't, because "IDK" is not a sufficient response. If you truly think about things before you say them, you'd have come up with a better answer.

I meant to as an answer to your question of "Then why can't you answer the question?"
Fine. Then answer the question I asked earlier: what is it about my signature that is racist?

When you are a member of the progressive caucus and you are close to the DSA you are communist.

The Asylum’s namesake clearly doesn’t want the thread to be renamed.

Moderate Republican from the Midwest with blue collar AND suburban appeal? Yeah he easily destroys Bernie. The swings among suburbs and college whites Hillary got against Trump don’t happen. Rural and WWC trends continue sharply against the Dems. Minorities, who were never enthusiastic about Bernie, swing away from the Dems and have low turnout. Kasich successfully paints Sanders as a radical socialist; Sanders embraces this image, repeatedly doing things like his infamous 60 Minutes interview doubling down on his Castro praise. The result is electoral disaster, with Kasich winning every state it’s remotely possible for Republicans to win.

Imagine thinking a Republican would win Virginia or Oregon, lol.

2016 Virginia was not 2020 Virginia yet , it only voted 3 points more democratic than the nation and that was with Hillary Clinton on top of the ticket , a Virginian as a running mate and someone a bad fit as Trump being the republican nominee .

Kasich would absolutely beat Bernie in Virginia
Yeah sure maybe, but Oregon voting for Kasich is absurd

Democrats routinely defend things far worse than that solely because their candidates have a (D) next to their name (see: the Clintons, Menendez, Cuomo, etc.) and are pretty proud of it, so yeah, while such comments might be inappropriate, "the people of TX-13" are right not to draw the line at an incident that wouldn’t even trigger a 'do I draw the line here?' response among your average Democratic voter. The GOP would be a lot better off if it was emulating the Democrats more often than not when it comes to these things, but we all know that they won’t.

So why exactly do you think North and South Dakota deserve to be their own state? Or why do  Vermont and NH deserve to be their own state? Don’t you think the vast population gaps between states is a bit ridiculous? It would be much healthier for our democracy if there was a minimum and maximum population per state, so that way these states that are so tiny that their Senators outnumber their representatives get a less disproportionate representation in the Senate, and by imposing a population cap, huge states like California and Texas can get more Senators by breaking up into smaller states. I’d say that every state should ideally have somewhere around 5 million residents. This would be a lot better than the system we had where only a few ten thousand people need to be living somewhere, and then a completely arbitrary border is drawn that locks in two Senators for this patch of dirt regardless of their population in the future

States don't need to prove they deserve to exist for political purposes.
Then for what purpose do they exist? The creation of a state is entirely political

Exactly these incompetently run elections undermine trust and confidence and make it seem like Trump's BS of election fraud may be sort of true. New York state and the city are a disgrace when it comes to managing elections properly. Not want to sound lecturing here, but sometimes I think you guys just should get out and let us Europeans run your elections. We don't have the issues.

Forget Europe. Florida does it completely right.

They're really good at it. But don't take my word for it.

Jeb! is spot on here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-florida-became-americas-vote-counting-model-11604703732

I mean after the debacle in the aftermath of the 2018 senate race, it seems clear that there’s something to be desired with their election administration.
