Burke was that one Hillary-Trump flipped county right? I’m interested to see who wins it this election.

It would be funny if we DID have a split result, but only because the election was so ridiculously close that a difference of like 10K votes changed the result.

Gotta hand it to polls this time. They’re probably going to be close.

GA polls for whatever reason seem to be the most reliable lately.

Thank God the runoffs aren’t in Wisconsin.

So what non-political things are you guys doing tonight?

I’m playing Call of Duty right now.

I'm also playing a video game, albeit a very different one: Crash Bandicoot 4. Just got it recently, very good platformer.

It's mind boggling that Loeffler is running only 0.2% behind Perdue. Perdue is atleast a normal Republican, Loeffler on the other hand is total garbage and just an all around awful candidate with no redeeming qualities.

I guess this is one of those elections where you either vote for both, or neither. "Candidate quality" doesn't matter as much since its an election for the fate of the Senate.

Just thought.  If the two Democrats win and Dems get the Senate at the last minute, this will have been the most painful possible election cycle for Republicans.  First they get their hopes up to win the White House, lose it a few days later.  Then lose the senate... their heads would explode.

GA is lost for the Rs, ha Senate Majority Leader Schumer

That's it. It's over. The king has spoken. Secular trifecta!

Boy would I pay to see Mitch McConnell’s face right now

If these leads hold up, you can bet McConnell will be cursing Donald Trump.

This is like in movies where two villains don't get along which causes the protagonist to win.

It’s kind of crazy how almost every post 2016 election has been great for Dems except for 2020-which was merely good.

Ironically, the biggest disappointment I can remember involved a candidate with the surname Ossoff. Maybe we'll get a redemption story tonight.

Actually, it was in some other southeastern Senate race.

Which one? There are two I can think of that qualify.

It was a pair of races actually, one between a Trumpy Gen-Xer and a black progressive, the other between a rich white boomer and a center-left establishment dude.

Ah, the Titanium Tilt R state.

In terms of representation for non-Puerto Rico territories, I think it would make sense to give each of them one House seat but no Senate seats. This gives them representation but still accounts for their small size so they aren't overrepresented. I'm not sure the Constitution would allow this though.

I've said before that I truly wanted Warnock to win, and it seems like it's coming to pass. He is the antithesis of Loeffler in every way, and the attacks upon his character were disgraceful and demeaning. She is reaping what she sowed.

You've mentioned before that you're African American, it must be great to see an African American Democrat (hopefully) elected in the south?

Yes. I may not agree with Warnock on every issue, as I've made clear my views (and registration) as a moderate independent, but I certainly see this as a historic and worthy milestone. And the pastor of MLK's church is certainly far more deserving of this seat than some arrogant businesswoman who bears a great animus against those not like her.

I'm also black and I agree 100%. It's astounding how few black Senators there have been; Obama was only the 5th one in history and we've had around a dozen now.

From now on, I will always predict narrow GOP wins in Florida and narrow Dem wins in Georgia.

The yin and yang of Tilt states.

Is it fair to say that in retrospect, the Presidency, Senate and House were all Tilt D?

Why is everyone celebrating? The GOP are still well ahead
Or am I missing something?

DeKalb still has a lot of votes to come in, and to a lesser extent the other Atlanta metro counties do too.

I'm starting to wonder if Dems' reasonable ceiling in the Senate was always 50 either way. If Gideon and Cunningham had won, turnout in the GA runoffs probably wouldn't be as high.

The King of our blog was once again right. OC is a prophet, GA has joined the SECULAR Sunbelt Stack.

With Warnock it's no longer a Secular Sunbelt Stack, it's a glorious CHRISTIAN Sunbelt Stack.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand MillennialMAModerate. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of neoliberal politics, most of the analysis will go over a typical poster's head. There's also MillennialModerate's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Greek mythology, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of his analysis, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike MillennialModerate truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in MM's existencial catchphrase "This is over, you're an idiot if you think Democrats will win," which itself is a cryptic reference to the Epic of Sisyphus. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as MillennialModerate's genius unfolds itself on their computer monitors. What fools... how I pity them. 😂

And yes by the way, I DO have a D-MA tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 Atlas post points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

So I guess we have proven beyond doubt, that promising people COLD HARD CASH, is a lot more effective than whatever the hell the Democrats have been running on as of late.

Andrew Yang certainly had the right idea back in the primaries.

Fox isn't even bothering to cover the election anymore. The election graphics are up, but they've pivoted to guns.

Are you sure they are not talking about Hillary's emails?

What they really need to be talking about is Young Kim's homophobia.

Ugh hopefully Manchin uses his power to stop the left wing agenda and force a more centrist agenda to pass

Biden's agenda is already fairly centrist. It's like some Republicans forget who won the primaries.

How long until Ossoff runs for President?

16 years, but a plagiarism scandal might force him to drop out. 20 years later, he'll run again & end up getting the VP slot. 12 years after that, he'll be elected President.

You know I was actually just thinking this is kinda similar to Joe's first win. Really close win against an incumbent by a really young guy who will probably stick around for a while.

And in a Democratic trending state.
