Only two people seem to have a shot at this.

I really don't think Pawlenty will place higher than third, but we will see.

1) I don't think Paul is winning anything (apart from the CPAC fluke) other than Internet polls.

2 flukes 2 years in a row?

Trust me, he is running a serious campaign to win this straw poll. They are making calls all over to identify supporters and have invested into buses to get them from every county in the state to show up. Just the other day the GOP Chairman of Story county (the location of Ames) endorsed Paul which will help as well. Plus it is not like he is polling at 1% or 2%, he is up there with the rest them in a lot of polls. I wouldn't be so quick to assume he won't win.
Ron Paul has a strong chance of winning, and stronger chance of second place, and at least, guarenteed 3rd.

I wouldn't bother. He already made up his mind.

So... Paul up, Huntsman down. Santorum up.

Idk where Paul stands. He sure did energize his base, but pissed off other republicans.

Santorum is up without a doubt. Now what about Cain, Bachmann, and T-Paw?

T-Paw picked a lot of fights, so he better hope it pays off to separate himself from the others. Cain and Bachmann didn't hurt themselves so that's always good.

Yes, yes. I watched the audience applaud Paul and wondered if any of them were actually Republicans.

Of course they are. Why wouldn't they be?

Less than 200 votes was the difference between the GOP actually having a real chance to reform itself or definitely maintain the status quo.

I will not be voting for any GOPer come the general election. If the GOP refuses to reform itself into this century, screw them. I'm sick of having to vote for their trash candidates. For a libertarian, I was previously fairly reliable GOP.

Just let me have this one post, guys. I'm extremely furious and even ashamed right now. I just got back from work, worrying about what was going to happen. I'm just so sick of the corruption in both parties.* I'm crushed, and I don't know what to think. Sad

*No, I'm not claiming anything was rigged in the poll.

I hope nobody is mistaking me, of all people, as a Ron Paul fan. I just call them as I see them and this "straw poll" smells a little fishy.

Some singer (who I never heard about but apparently is really popular over there) played a concert for Bachmann. She would only let people that registered with her see the concert or even enter her little world. It goes outside the sportsmanship the other campaigns showed (A photo showed a Perry supporter trying to dunk Bernanke in a dunk tank at the Paul spot), but it is 'legal.'
