Vodka, rye or beer please. Otherwise, basically anything but gin.

What's wrong with you? Vodka is pointless.

The spirits hierarchy is obviously

Gin

Whiskey
Brandy
Rum

Tequila
Vodka

with other alcohols even lower.

What is this tier list?

Whiskey and Agave spirits should be top considering these are more commonly enjoyed neat, no?

Probably. I just really like gin and things with gin in them so that'll always be my favorite. The opposite goes for agave spirits. Regardless, I will die on the hill of vodka being the worst spirit.

I don't think vodka being the worst spirit would be challenged by anyone with a functioning palate. Gin is great, of course, and possibly my favorite spirit to mix, but it's undeniably enhanced by either citrus, herbs, or vermouth, or some combination thereof.

I will never understand the distaste for agave spirits, however. You really haven't lived until you've subbed the gin a negroni for mezcal!

Maybe I'll try it out. I don't actively dislike agave spirits--I just don't look forward to/seek them out in the same way I do the others.

Have you ever had a Gordon's Breakfast cocktail? I always push this to the bloody mary brunch crowd because bloody marys are weak mentality. Not the most beautiful drink in the world, but it certainly makes up for it in taste.

I drink Bloody Marys on flights because it's the only even remotely socially acceptable alcoholic drink to order at 7am on a weekday.

My position is that ordering a Bloody Mary is never acceptable. That being said, I've seen people order them at 4 pm and my instinct is to politely ask them to leave the establishment.
