I actually think so. At the high school I go to in NYC, there is a large Asian Student body. Many in the student body are angry because of how DeBlasio is trying to do some level of Affirmative Action for high school applications, by propping up African American and Hispanic students, who are greatly underrepresented in NYC's top high schools. Many Asian kids in NYC aren't particularly wealthy, but tiger parenting leads them to place a greater emphasis on education than other kids. Many get frustrated also about college admissions, and they feel like because they are Asian they are less likely to be accepted to a specific college, and then go out of their way to adjust their list solely beacuse of that. Many Asians are fiscally conservative in many respects, and often support Republican canidates for that reason.
While the phenomenon you have observed is definitely accurate, a clear majority of Asian-Americans still supports affirmative action. It is mostly Chinese-Americans, especially recent Chinese immigrants who are an extremely vocal minority on this issue in both NYC and California, so don't conflate them with all of Asian America. They also tend to be fiscally conservative and be part of the 25% of Asian-Americans who were already supporting Republicans and Trump anyway.
