Yeah, no, that's just utter B.S.  Them calling it definitely indicated they thought it would be a larger margin than will end up being the case. You simply don't call a race when you think it'll be in the 10-20k vote range.  No, you're wrong.

They call it when they're 99.5% sure of the result, not when they're 99.5% sure it won't be close, more than 10-20k vote difference, or anything else. Yes they probably thought it wouldn't be close because the confidence interval probably spread several percent. But the moment they call it, a razor thin margin might still possible.

Nah.  There was always a chance Trump would win when they made the call.  Just turned out the remaining batches weren't that friendly to him. 

I just see it as very similar to when the networks instacalled Georgia for Clinton in 1992. Turned out very close, arguably shouldn't have been called that early, but didn't really matter because he won it anyway.

When will we know the first results from the mail ballots in NY? I know they are slow to count.

Most counties will only report votes in their final official results, or may be picked up by local media outlets. The only county really actively reporting their absentee count right now is Onondaga County where Biden currently leads by 60%, a 52% swing from their final election day total.

edit: Cayuga County as well, Biden+35, a 54% swing.

Wow so maybe Biden's gonna dominate in upstate NY as lots of the district polls suggested after all.

Supreme Court already ruled that faithless electors can be punished, most if not all states that matter here have faithless elector laws and also the electors are chosen by the winning party and thus will be DEMOCRATS.

Good luck convincing them to break the law AND betray their own party to vote for you, Donnie!

By the way, some Democrats were in this exact state of denial in 2016. Remember the “Hamilton Electors?” Group of Hillary electors based out of Washington that tried to convince a bunch of Republicans to vote for Colin Powell instead of Trump. In the end, they were the only ones who did it and it just cost Hillary votes.

Fun fact: This is the first time this has been true since 1964.

And it’s the first time it’s been true of this particular route (CO-NM-AZ-CA-OR-WA) since 1936!

It would have been true in 1992 or 1996, but in 1992 Clinton won CO but narrowly lost AZ, then he won AZ but narrowly lost CO in 1996.

It also would have been true in the elections from 1940 through 1948, but FDR lost CO in 1940 and 1944, then Truman lost OR in 1948. However, you could have taken another route through WY/ID in 1948.

I hope so. Alaska is a much cooler state, so even if it’s worth a few less EVs I’d rather have it on our side than Iowa going forward. Also it alone substantially increases the odds we win the majority of land mass in the nation, which Republicans seem to think matters.

Networks not calling North Carolina is a DISGRACE!

Per NBC NEWS Trump is up 73,156 but only 95,050 remain to be counted!

And from my Point of view there should be Criminal Investigations by the Senate into the Polling Industry as well as how Networks call Races. FOX bad call about AZ clouded the entire Election Night Coverage not to mention the early House Call by FOX particularly with the underlining Headline "Democrats expand Majority" which is nowhere near true.

Question: How do all the news networks coordinate and basically call states at the exact same time? Lol it happened today, yesterday with Arizona and last Saturday with Pennsylvania.

I don't know if they coordinate or if someone just calls it then all the other networks take that as the go-ahead to do it.

But if they do coordinate, wouldn't be hard exactly for them to communicate with each other!
