How completely useless. More time scolding people for property destruction than instructing the police to stop instigating violence. These mayors aren't on the sidelines, they are in positions of power and should be held just as accountable to the deaths as the police.

You know that cameras don't follow her around 24/7, right? You have no idea, ZERO, how much time and energy she's spent talking to police about not instigating violence. You are talking out of your @$$. George Floyd wasn't killed in Atlanta by an Atlanta cop, so the mayor of Atlanta is in no way accountable for what happened in Minneapolis.

Is it difficult to make a post that is utterly wrong on every single level like that? It looks like it'd be a lot of work.

This issue is not limited to Minneapolis.

Those were very unfortunate deaths. A mayor doesn't have unlimited power in these situations. Whether ir not the offending officer is arrested, charged and sentenced comes down to policr department and a local judge. You aren't privy to the private convos she has had with her police cheif(s). Now, if you want to say that she should fire her police cheif because of these deaths, I can accept that argument. If you want to say that she needs to virtue signal to the public and media more, I might agree to that.

The protest in Pittsburgh was peaceful for the first two hours until a white anarchist started smashing up a cop car even as black protestors yelled at him to stop.

We're beginning to see a very clear pattern. The violence and vandalism is largely being started by white leftists.

There's no pattern of white leftists starting the violence. There are only one or two examples of it. Now, if you meant "patterns of white leftists encouraging / being involved in the violence", okay sure.

It's because they haven't found a reason to yet. Although I saw Toronto was also having a protest which makes no sense. Here this was the perfect sparkplug and shows why you can't keep people locked down this long it makes them crazy,

Earlier this week, relatives of Korchinski-Paquet said she was in the midst of a mental health crisis and that they called police on Wednesday to the apartment building near Bloor Street and High Park Avenue to get her help.

There is not much information about what happened next, but at some point, Korchinski-Paquet asked to go to the washroom inside her apartment and was followed in by several officers, according to her mother and brother.

She then fell to her death some time later.

Watching local news here in Los Angeles earlier.
The looters were swarming a specific high-end shoe (sneakers) store. It went on for an hour or so.
People were driving-up to the store and people would get out to steal merchandise.
There were some very big/heavy-weight looters that just stood outside, and as weaker looters ran by carrying 4 or 5 boxes of shoes, the big looters would trip them or shove them to the ground. The big looters would then take their stolen merchandise and throw it in the back seat of their nearby car.
After that, they would wait until the next idiot came by and did it again. They kept doing this over and over again; rinse and repeat.
I just couldn't stop thinking how this is a total disgrace to the cause of protesting against what happened to George Floyd.

This is what anarchy looks like. Protests need to stay protests, and IF they turn into riots, you need to target those who wronged you (in this case, the Minneapolis police). When things devolve into anarchy, all goals and endgames of the protest disappear. Anarchy swallows any and all ideology, value or ideal and replaces it with anarchy.

At the moment it seems that the narrative is quite 'anti-cop' outside the usual MAGA and MAGA adjacent bubble which has really surprised me. I think this is due to the targeting of the press. Mainstream and local media seem less willing to 'mitigate to death' the protests. Those who do, seem to be subject to people commenting/linking to instances of the media being attacked.

This incident seems to have strucken a stronger chord than usual. Hopefully the overwhelming anti-police sentiment forces actual change and will be a turning point in police violence against the black community, both in America and the West at large.

This isn't true. Most of the left don't want the general public or cops to have access to military style assault weapons. None cares if you have a shotgun or a bandgun. Or a squirt gun for that matter.

Your post about cops and weapons is true, but that's only only one aspect of authoritarianism. I'm jealous that you haven't yet been exposed to some of the leftist police state cringe, most of it from third wave feminists and college kids.
