Section 27 of Article 1 of the Wisconsin State Constitution grants the Republican Party the right to control the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

If they impeach her now, she can't rule on pending redistricting lawsuits. The goal here is to at least delay new maps past 2024. She doesn't have to be convicted, just impeached, and then they can slow-walk the trial.

This is all about Republicans not wanting to give up any power whatsoever. Hence the incessant whining from WISC Republican justices and lawmakers.

This would be viewed as well as election denialism.   It'd probably tank the GOP's chances to win WI in 2024.

You act like they care. Most of them probably know the chances aren’t good for trump to beat Biden, so why let them have the house?

They have absolutely no logical reason to try and pull this, lol, but Republicans are generally quite unintelligent so they may try it. She won't be removed from office by the Senate, though.

Protasiewicz, and the liberal majority she creates, is an existential threat to the WIGOP. Should their gerrymandered maps get overturned they’ll actually have to start competing for the legislature and could potentially loose control of it. They currently are two seats shorts of a super majority, that would be detrimental to them long term.
