Yeah, it's definitely a big, noticeable difference in scenery once you cross the Red River border, suddenly seeing these giant, busy casinos on the side of the road.

Especially as a single guy in Oklahoma with no children, Bushie really has no other choice but the Indian medicine man or death.

Bushie you should just ignore Inks' hateful personal attacks. If he weren't a moderator they would have surely earned him enough infraction points to be put on mod review or even banned by now.

I love how Bushie always gets "small" hamburgers every time he describes what he eats! I mean, he could've gone for the grilled chicken, but that's not our Bushie!

Maybe he's afraid that if he starts eating chicken, he'll be responsible for too many chicken deaths.  Cows are so big, that it takes quite a few hamburgers before you're responsible for the death of a single cow.  But with chickens, it only takes a few meals before you have a chicken death on your conscience.

I'm going to address both Inks and Kal in this post:

I know its my life that I'm living.  I just want to make sure you and me both realize that it doesn't matter what answers I give you whether they be the right answers or the wrong answers.  Your life will go on and my life will go on and we'll continue posting on this forum and discussing politics, together.  What matters is that I actually put my words in to action.  I realize that I've done a very poor job of that in the past.  I can say things will be different until the cows come home, but things won't actually be different until things are different, if you know what I mean.  I'm not trying to convince you or anybody that things will be different, because I don't answer to you or anyone else on this forum.  I answer to my God, ultimately, and myself, second, and until I get completely off their nickel, I answer to my parents.

If you don't want to "answer to us", why to maintain this thread other than trolling?

The point of this thread is for Bushie to regale us with stories about his life, not to be interviewed by people who want him to die from lack of healthcare under a bridge.

In that Supersize Me Movie, I remember they interviewed that a guy that had only eaten Big Macs for every meal for the past few decades of his life, and he was pretty healthy. The trick is avoiding the fries and the soda.

Hunger means you're burning fat! If you're hungry just have as diet soda.

And like Eraserhead, I too believe in you. Ignore the haters.

A slice of ham and two slices of bread would not fill me up Inks. I'm surprised that two of those is even enough for him, I doubt it would satisfy me. But yes, he should supplement it with some baby carrots and hummus.

Glad to hear you guys are okay! Luckily Austin is a little bit south of tornado alley, so we never got hit by anything, but we did tornado drills and learned all about hiding in a closet or room without windows. Scary stuff.

Yeah, eating junk food for dinner is not a proper diet.

He posted about the dietician visit a page back but it was lost in the putting children to bed discussion:

What's up, folks!  I'm home from the Dietitian Appointment.  She gave me a lot of good things to start doing.  Of all the things she gave me, she said the best thing to do is change my habits one or two at a time.  She said its not good to run to the fridge and throw everything out as the burn out potential greatly increases.  The first things I'm going to start with is eating breakast, plus a lighter snack at lunch, and a medium size dinner and increase my water intake.  She likes that I am trying to get in the habit of walking, but she says don't overdo it right away.  She says aim for 20-30 minutes 4 times a week to start and then I can work up to whatever goal I have.  She says my body needs time to adjust to a different routine.  She also likes the idea that I'm trying to reduce regular pop.  I am going back to see her on June 12.

Honestly she doesn't sound like a very good dietician. She likes the idea that he's trying to reduce his soda intake?! Just tell him to stop drinking non-diet soda, jesus christ it's not that hard, both taste like fizzy syrup water.

franks with low fat content and a whole wheat bun and then make a Chicago dog with plenty of veggies

You're right, but that probably describes none of what Bushie ate three times for dinner.

I'm not going to follow all of her advice as she wants me to stay within 1500-1800 calories.  That is just not going to happen.  I can do 2000-2250, but I refuse to starve myself and I refuse to constantly be hungry and not be able to enjoy meal time.  She also thinks I should only have 3 oz of meat per day (the size of a smart phone).  I'm sorry, but that's only 2-3 bites.  Not going to happen.  If I want a steak, I'm going to have a steak.  Not every day, naturally, but once in a while, I will indulge in a steak.

Then you're not going to get into the Peace Corps, you're not going to make it to Kenya, and you're not going to live very long. I'm sorry, but it's true.

This is what 3 oz of fish, 3 oz of beef, and 3 oz of chicken looks like:

That's still a good amount for a meal.

It's not a good amount if that's all you're eating.

Well, yeah, I thought that was implied/the dietician had explained as much. Then again, Bushie thinks three sausages and mustard is a decent dinner, so you never know...

When I do eat a salad, I have NO dressing.  To me, the dressing negates the health benefits of the salad.

Goddammit Bushie.

You should eat breakfast cereals high in fiber and protein. Rice Krisipies doesn't have fiber and only has a small amount of protein. It also has zero whole grains; it's just white rice and sugar.

What about Crispix?

Seems legit.

You should get an account at caloriecount.

Still pretty low in fiber (though like Rice Crispies, at least it's low in sugar compared to some other cereals). It would be even better if you throw in a banana and some walnuts, as that will provide you with fiber (along with other important nutrients) and keep you feeling full longer. Even better than boxed cereals would be oatmeal or something like that though.

Yeah, eggs are good too. Frying up two eggs (or boiling them) and eating that with some whole wheat toast is a lot more tasty and satisfying than a bowl of cereal IMO. It might have a hundred or so more calories, but it has a ton of fiber and protein that will keep you feeling full much longer.

Four sandwiches's worth of ground beef alone is like 800-1000. Even if Bushie used very lean ground beef, that's still over 600. Four buns is 480 calories. Four servings of sloppy joe mix is about 150. Plus 160 calories of chips. His dinner was at the very least 1400 calories and probably closer to 1700 or 1800.

Even if he had eaten only 1200 calories, sloppy joes are basically just unrefined carbs, sugary sauce, and fatty meat. And more fat and processed carbs in the potato chips. This is not a healthy diet. At all.

I read the nutrition labels on each item.  I know how many calories I had.

Anyway, does it really matter at this point?  I still lost 2 pounds as a result of the 4 sloppy joes.  I guess if I had starved myself by having just one tiny sandwich, I could have lost 3-4 pounds.  There is absolutely no use or no reason to keep bashing me over the head for a dinner choice when I actually benefited from it.  Unless, of course, you want to attack for the sake of attacking, which is mostly what this is all about.

There were nutrition labels on the beef? That said four servings of beef were only 300 calories? Did you put like a teaspoon of beef on each sandwich?

Of course it f[inks]ing matters, if you don't want to die before you're 50. If you're okay with dying before you're fifty, go ahead, continue to eat four sloppy joes for dinner as part of your weight loss diet.

You know I'm not Inks, you know I've been one of the people in this thread defending you and trying to give you advice. But you're being ridiculous. Stop pretending you benefited from eating a family's dinner's worth of food for dinner last night, and stop pretending that not changing your habits at all is a weight-loss diet.

It's hilarious that he kept saying "Trust me, trust me, I'm going to see the dietician, it'll be different this time!" And then since he's met with the dietician, he's literally not changed his diet at all (except for eating more sloppy joes...). As far as I can tell, he's eaten literally zero vegetables. Not a single vegetable since meeting with the dietician and starting his new diet. His meals have been two bowls of rice krispies, three sausages with mustard, four sloppy joes, and a handful of potato chips. That is his new weight-loss diet. As far as I can tell, he hasn't even walked.
