Harris has the highest chance of being his pick. I'm certain that he will pick a female Senator, but if that person is not Harris, then I can also see: Baldwin (though he may be risking a Senate seat with her), Cortez Masto, Duckworth, Klobuchar, or Warren.

Number one consideration, above all else.

Biden must pick a running mate who is qualified to be President.

He must avoid the trap McCain fell into in 2008 when he picked a woman for the sake of having a woman on the ticket, in his case, a woman who had absolutely no qualifications for being President, who was a token woman candidate only.

So I would say to Biden, be careful, go for someone qualified for the Presidency, be it man or woman, and avoid tokenism.

Avoid this advice at your peril.

Anybody he chooses will be more qualified than Trump at least. Qualifications are out the window now, it doesn't matter.

That would certainly be dangerous for the country if qualifications were thrown out the window.

Just look to Trump as the perfect example of that.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I am saying that this is something to take up with the majority of the American populace. They don't care. And if they don't care, it won't be part of what matters when it comes to a politician's appeal anymore. Qualifications/experience are up there with ethics,  policy, and principles as things that don't matter anymore thanks to Trump. Maybe this will change again in the post-Trump future, but I'm not so optimistic.

If he needs a Latina woman, he could also reach out to Michelle Luján Grisham or even Rep. Linda Sánchez. But I wouldn't exactly be surprised if he chose a Republican like Larry Hogan.
Lol no
Why not? So far, he seems to be basing his campaign on Trump being an anomaly and every other Republican being perfectly fine. Choosing a GOP running mate would drive that point home.

Well, considering that the GOP and Trump are synonymous now, Biden has basically already alienated 90% of them plus.

I think if anything it becomes more likely. Biden, when he's done licking his wounds and should he still be nominated, may come to admire Harris' fortitude.

I think it would be a decent decision, the question is how much animosity there may be between them. After all, I'm under the impression that the primary will be between the two of them post-Super Tuesday.

As attractive as Gabbard is, I wouldn't want to see that...

Serious answer: No. She is too polarizing and doesn't actually bring much to the ticket. Her surprising defensiveness of Biden could be used to his advantage regardless though. He could pose himself as being less hawkish than his reputation suggests since Gabbard came to his defense on his Iraq war vote.

She is too conservative to make up for whatever lack of enthusiasm that progressives will have for Biden. Plus, that would be a massive waste of a hard-fought, and much-needed, Democratic Senate seat.

I used to think so, but probably not.
