Wonkish1 is an easily-provoked jackass who really should proofread his posts more often. But it's unfair and hackish not to admit that he understands economics.

Really?  So the right-wing position is the one which shows 'understanding', Arny?

Of course not. I didn't say that it was unfair to vote for you! You and Wonkish obviously have different understandings of economics, but if I can say so without sounding unbearably relativistic, which understanding is better depends on one's perspective.

My point was that the vitriol that's been directed toward Wonkish here is obviously mostly personal and not concerned with actually answering BRTD's question.

Ah, thanks for the clarification!  Excellent post - only relativism makes sense for political issues like 'economics'.

People who think they know a lot about economics are almost invariably deluded.  It is best understood as an area of political preference, not a 'field'.

So here you have Opebo admitting that he knows so little that he doesn't even want to call it a "field". And 40% voted for him?

I rest my case....?

You can't rest your case just because your opponent disagrees with you, Wonk.  Ask your debate coach tomorrow at school.

I don't think opebo gets the credit he deserves on this forum.

Consider the audience, brtd.

Wonkish, but this is a special Olympics contest.
edit: I should explain why: first of all economics is junk science. Also how can someone who has understanding of modern economics and math like Wonkish come to such wrong conclusions.

Lack of character, of course, seaton, which lack you have also often demonstrated, alas.

But why do you want to win a special olympics contest? I don't understand.

The judgement is not of me, but of the membership of the forum, Seatong.

The question doesn't ask who would you trust more to design a system that would lead to prosperity(had to use a right-wing term here), but who has better knowledge of terms & bullsh**t associated with economics. It's an insulting question.

Double-think and -speak does not understanding make.. unless of course it is used facetiously.

There is a clear tl; dr version at the bottom.

At the bottom of what?  And a version of what?  I've no idea what you're talking about...

We are all simian, dead0man - a simple and obvious truth that many of the human apes deny in their vanity.  Admitting this will help you a great deal to improve your understanding of society and your place within it.

Perhaps a boor mistakes talent for effort... I'm afraid it is you, tiresome, who should apply greater efforts - after all, as the saying goes, 'lack of charm can be fatal'.
