I turn 17 in just over 7 hours, and I'm not very much looking forward to it. I have a sinking feeling I'm not making the most of my teen years, and I feel old. I can remember in 4th grade, we used to talk about teenagers as these mythical creatures who had long hair and listened to heavy metal and were always doing drugs and were just generally up to no good and getting into trouble, and now I'm almost half done a teenager! Surprise

dude it is all good in the hood man just remember that Sam Walton didn't found Walmart until he was 43 also I can guarantee what you did with your teen years has been better than what I did with mine. You are a cool dude it will be good.

I hate TN so much. I can't wait to get out, to leave this state and let the memories just fade until they seem like nothing more than a hellish dream.

I've gotten myself into a tough situation from the opposite place I usually am:

So, last week, I decided to give a try to the new Facebook Dating feature.  On Sunday, I matched with this girl, and we started to text.  On paper, it seems like a really good fit- she seems like a very strong Christian, she has some similar interests, we have talked over text about all of the moral issues, etc.  But, tonight is the night that we are supposed to get dinner, and I'm just feeling like I'm not interested at all.

Part of it is something that I probably overlooked at first.  She's 20 and I'm 23; I didn't view that as a big deal at first, but, the more I think about it, she is a sophomore in college and I've been out of college for a year and a half.  We are just at completely different stages in our lives.  When I text with her, I'm starting to feel that majorly for some reason.  But, I think there is something else at play here too- every night, I go to bed thinking about a girl from my church, not this girl I'm supposed to get dinner with.  The problem is that I know that my friend from church (who is still a very good friend) isn't interested because I asked her in July.  So, I feel like I have to move on, but, when I try, I can only think of her.

The other side of this is that it's not that often that I get dates, so now that I have a girl who seems like a very sweet and nice person interested in going out with me, part of me feels like I would be making a big mistake by turning it down.  Regardless, it's too close to the date to cancel without being a total jerk, so maybe it will go better than I expect it to.  I've never met her, so maybe I am underselling her based solely on texts.

I want a wife and kids so badly, and every other time I have gone out to eat with a girl even when it wasn't explicitly a date, I was so excited, but I just feel nothing this time.  And, I fear, that, as much as I want to make excuses of why she isn't the perfect girl, the real reason is that I have such strong feelings for a girl from my church that I know I can't date.

If you are of the sort, please say a prayer for me!

Dude go get her brah, no regrets!!! You miss 100% of the shots you don't take and like, who knows it could end up being something great!!! You know I am not a church man but like I will be hoping you take life by the horns and go out there and grab your destiny brah because you are a church man and you should find yourself a church woman to be with!!! 💯💯💯

alright bitches time to hear about how i tore this weekend up so hard that i now have to wear a turtleneck out in the 90 degree heat the rest of this week, probably.

so like, my birthday is coming up and it's depressing the hell out of me right, like but this last weekend i had a whole weekend off for the first time in idk how long so i was like hell yeah let's go get it and so my fiancee and I a few weeks back rented a big ass house out in the middle of nowhere in Illinois for the weekend that the owners said we could party at, and we invited "the dream team" (a group consisting of our best friends, 3 guys and 5 girls, from our university days) to like, crash and get wasted and stuff. so we committed to like an almost 5 hour ride lmao but whatever.

we showed up and this place was lit af. hot tub, pool, big ass beds, it had it all. so like, on Saturday night we all got absolutely wasted and played a bunch of drinking games and chilled in the hot tub (where my fiancee gave me an absolutely massive hickey on my neck, like tbh I was too drunk too care at the time but now i'm like why did i let her do that) but whatever, idc if i look like a trashy high schooler. Everybody also had a lot of fun and we did a bunch of other stuff and honestly I can't remember all we did but it was fun. So that's why I have to wear a turtleneck the rest of this week. but 100% worth it man this weekend slapped.

i think i realize why i've been so down these recent months. since i graduated and even got my dream job, i actually have a lot more free time and that messes me up brah.

when i was still in school and a bookkeeper and all i was pretty much doing something all the time. Like I usually did 80 hours plus between work and school and extracurriculars. But like, now I'm just working and usually around 55-60 hours a week.

That's way too much free time. I need to find something else to occupy my time other than just partying between. That worked when I was in school and had less free time but partying too much gets bad. I don't want to lose my liver and all you know.

I was at Cracker Barrel with my fiancee recently and we were holding hands across the table (literally nothing very PDA, just holding hands) while waiting for the server to come take our order, and some old ass woman who I guess was racist was alone at the table next to us and started staring at us, it was awkward af and after a couple of minutes my fiancee glared at her and she looked away and shook her head like she was so disappointed or something lmfao.

It blows my mind that old ass people who are probably in miserable relationships (older people have much higher divorce rates, iirc) think they can judge people in loving relationships over their race. Sorry we love each other and make our relationship work while you've probably been divorced like 5 times 🤣🤣🤣

The crazy thing is where I live this is a pretty common reaction, definitely not the first time we've got this. I hate the south.

Alcohol is bad. But life sucks so how else do we numb the pain?

Family

my family hate me.

but also when my fiancee and I get married, have a child and build our own (superior) family, yes i believe that will help.

omg guys i think my entry path to becoming a derivatives or bond trader might actually be opening 😬😬😬 i didn't expect to actually garner any interest, i thought it was just a pipe dream. I know my resume makes me look like a total overachiever and I guess I am but i thought i would always get overlooked anyway omgggg

here's to moving somewhere huge in the next year or so and doing hundred hour weeks for a few years?

my wife is being strangely supportive. she was totally against me becoming starting on the path to becoming a trader just a few months ago. I think she's decided if I'm raking in that ca$$$h it won't matter if I'm never home?

wtffff guyssssssssssssssssss wtffffffff

I had a true neocon evening last night. Basically just chilled at home destroying a 6 pack of Natty while baking Freedom Fries I got at Walmart, watching Fox News and listening to Kid Rock. 🦅🦅🦅💯💯💯😎😎😎
