That story says that Merkley is expected to be there as well.

And here was Ryan’s response to the 2020 question:

nope. I think buttigieg would also be the youngest and first openly gay president. (hypothetically)

Tim Ryan asked if he's running for president, and says "not right now":

We all know she is going to run but this could be an interesting trial to see if she could appeal to, or even salvage, some of those voters that Clinton lost.

I hate how they characterize Michigan & Wisconsin as 'Drumpf country' were they ever described as Obama country? No.

I agree but it is important to remember how and why they voted for Trump if the Democrats want to flip it back in 2020.

They voted for Trump because there was a black man in the White House, and Democrats had just nominated a woman. In other words, they are sexist, racist [insert profanity here].

ah yes, that must be why they voted for obama twice

That's called plausible deniability.

thats

what

plausible deniability? is there some giant conspiracy in the rust belt? all these millions of people voted in unison for barack obama so they could turn around and get donald trump in?

people can vote for a candidate for actual reasons, just because you don't like the candidate(which i totally get) doesn't mean that there's some secret racist/sexist/homophobic agenda.

You do realize you're posting an article from a rabidly pro-Trump site that dismisses Russia-gate as "fake news"?

Comey's not running...at least not for President. (I could see him being the running mate for a Kasich campaign).

What I am doing in that post is being facetious.

By the way I believe Russiagate is fake news.  Trump has in action been the most anti Russian President since Reagan.  He is also.been determined to not let the Chinese run over us.
...which is why his foreign policy is advancing Russia's goals...

don't let this turn into just spewing lines fed to you by your respective ideologies because that's just not helpful

Kander might launch a campaign for Kansas City mayor "as early as next week":

http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article213570469.html

If he follows through on that, then he's presumably not running for president in 2020.

In other news, Politico says McAuliffe is looking at making some early primary state visits:

Stormy Daniels lawyer Michael Avenatti says he'll run for prez in 2020 if he doesn't think there's anyone else in the field who can beat Trump:

Bullock is moving fast

Bullock IMO has a shot to win Iowa, getting support from Tom Miller helps and we'll see what the congressional delegation and Governor are like in a couple months. If Biden, Bernie don't run it clears a lane with white rural voters there. Harris, Gillibrand, Patrick, Booker are all exceptionally poor fits in Iowa. Warren is definitely in play too.

This would be huge and Bullock's best bet. Win in Iowa, gain momentum and then win either New Hampshire or Nevada (doubt he has a shot in South Carolina).

NH more likely IMO, SC only if he's somehow managed to push out all candidates by then which is nigh impossible. You never know though.

I feel like McRaven would be great for someone who Trump would claim is an elitist. Like for Warren, Harris, Gillibrand, etc. Republicans always scream about Vets and the Military, so I'd love to watch them attack McRaven.

Well, maybe the VP spot, although I prefer professionals mostly. McRaven would be a good National Security Advisor, Secretary of Defense or Veteran's Secretary.

agree with pretty much all of you. Mostly included it since it was relevant, I don't think he'd run. He was floated as a VP for Sec. Clinton, no? He seems to be a good speaker and his resume is stellar so he's a solid VP pick for anyone and absolutely is cabinet material.

If Seth Moulton tries to primary Markey then he's delusional to the point I'm genuinely concerned about his mental health.

I think that seat will be an open seat. I don't see Markey running for reelection.

why's that?

Interesting...

any reason he'd go to help other than presidential ambitions? personal connections or anything? Cuz this seems quite out of the blue

This is a bit off-topic, but have 2020 election polls stopped until after the midterms? I haven't seen one recently, not that it matters this early.

I don't know for sure but I imagine the pollsters are focusing on '18.

Ye said on SNL that he intended running for president.

Independent? Democrat?

If he likes Trump so much why is he running?

'24 I believe

Yes, it's '24. A German news site cited him wrongly.
Thus I guess he's going to run as a Republican.

if he gets above 1% I'm jumping ship. hope the dems will be more big tent by then.

Michael Avenatti has officially launched a PAC. (TheFightPAC.org)

This whole contest is over.

We have our winner.

I might vote for Avenatti. He's not a spineless wimp who rolls over and gives the Republicans everything they want like most Democrats are.  I think Democrats are hungry for a candidate with a spine.

This but unironically.

Like, I seriously respect/like Avenatti.

I think he's a sane Democrat that, with the right VP running mate, could appeal to the Rust Belt voters and beat Trump.

oh lord

it begins
