Agreed. It's more likely that he would lose to another Democrat, but I think if there's one statewide race in California where a moderate Republican might have an opening in a Biden midterm, it's this one.

But who will the CA GOP convince to run in 2022 ?

I suppose Poizner could try a second independent bid. It could work.
