If Trump still comes to WI in the midst of our major outbreak, he's going to truly regret it come November 3. He's already turned off the majority of voters here, and he's just going to piss off more voters with this stunt.

Because its the Trump admin, I have to ask, what are the odds that this is fake and being done either to excuse Donald Trumps terrible debate and/or have an excuse to bail on future debates?

I doubt this. Trump personally would want to debate Biden every night if he could. He doesn't have the ability to understand how disgusting he looks on television.

Trump getting COVID is not just horrible optics for him, it's potentially dangerous. He's obese and doesn't seem to be in good health. It also makes him look ridiculously stupid for attacking Biden on masks.

Do you think he won’t get a sympathy boost?

I doubt it. Trump shows nobody mercy or sympathy, I don't think the nation will sympathize with a man who spends all his free time degrading others.

I had a family member in my house test positive and had somewhat close contact with them and never got it. It's very possible to avoid catching it even when you live with people who have it.

Usually you don't experience symptoms until a week after exposure.

If Trump has only had it for 48 hours or so, and he's already experiencing symptoms, then it's probably gonna be bad.

We need some Biden test results ASAP.  I'm hopeful, because Pence doesn't have it.  But Biden was up there 6-12 feet away from Trump with Trump screaming and spitting in an enclosed space all night long.

That said, from a few of the camera angles of the set it looks like there was a pretty high ceiling above them -- they did in the atrium of a building that went up 4 or 5 stories.  Maybe there was sufficient ventilation to save Biden.

Yeah. If Trump already has a fever and cough, I think the chances of him being hospitalized have gone up exponentially. We'll see what happens.

Stuff like this will anger and motivate Trump supporters (or those leaning to him). It will make people want to go out and support him on election day, especially at a time when many people dislike China.

China’s state media outlet mocks Trump for contracting coronavirus

I think Trump supporters are angry enough. If they get any angrier they might hurt themselves!

He must be in poor condition if they feel they need to hospitalize him. Giving me Boris Johnson flashbacks.

Well I think he’ll get sympathy votes now if he’s going to the hospital. That’s the end of us in the Biden camp.

I hate this wretched website.

It's sarcasm, I'm sure.

He deserves to live to see electoral defeat. Well, we deserve to witness it at least.

Americans are sick and tired of this freak's leadership. These stupid photo-ops (tear gassing protestors to clear the way for Trump to pose in front of a church, putting USSS agents in danger to wave to supporters wielding cultish flags) are energizing American voters against him. To most people, his conduct is and has been repulsive.

How soon before he’s out campaigning again?

And I think at least the second presidential debate should be canceled.  I would say Biden should decline the invitation but then the media would probably just let Trump do a town hall for 90 minutes.  But if Biden goes, Trump could infect him.

Besides that, Trump could infect the moderators and the audience/staff.  Do the debate over Zoom or don’t do it.

Biden should demand that all attendees wear a mask at all times, and if they refuse, then he should decline to do the debate.

That would make Biden look weak.. He can't risk it. Should just do what Harrison did and put up a glass barrier.

You've got to be joking. Making attendees wear a mask so a deadly virus doesn't spread is "weak"? Stop following the GOP propaganda.

No, refusing to debate would.

This makes absolutely zero sense. Either you believe COVID is a problem, in which case strict safety protocol must take place (especially in a Presidential forum), or you think it's not a problem, in which case you are ignoring the science and effects of the virus. If you believe COVID is a problem, Biden should ensure safety protocols are adhered to by every guest.

33% of voters thinking he was responsible is hilarious. If a President Biden did anything like this you'd see literal single-digits approving of his conduct.

The drip-drip-drip of new cases each day reminds me of the way the DNC hacked emails were leaked. This is extremely damaging to the Trump campaign; with each case it's a reminder of how reckless his administration has been.

This is why the pandemic is so much more dangerous to Trump politically than any of his controversies in 2016. That year, every single insane news story about him would be irrelevant in a week or two due to some completely unrelated, equally insane news story. There was no narrative to build upon. With the pandemic, it's the same news story, over and over and over and over and over again.

Yep. And the final blow to him is that in the final month of his campaign, every single person in his circle gets infected and each case is a front-page story. It's devastating for him.
