Does anybody know if there's quantifiable proof that VIP treatment improves health outcomes from acute episodes like this? I mean, it sounds right, but I also get the feeling that there may be a risk associated with having too many medical interventions take place in this kind of situation.

I don't know; perhaps, subconsciously, I am just relating this instance to the case of James Garfield a bit too much. Obviously medical care as improved a lot since then lol

The more I hear of Trump officials viewing this as electoral doomsday and the longer Trump remains silent in his basement, the more convinced I am that the opposite of a sympathy bump is going to happen. This is going to hobble his image among the voters who think he's tough s**t.

These were my initial thoughts as well, although I'll couch that in the fact that nothing ever seems to poke a hole in the ~40% of idiots who think he's God's gift to America.

I ask because he's probably getting a chest X-ray and an MRI.

If he's going to Walter Reed for that stuff, it's hardly anything to freak out about. But if the White House has equipment to do that stuff onsite, then I'm not sure why he'd be going to the hospital unless something was wrong.
