Good. Republicans can't even lose one more seat - have to have every seat go their way. I doubt it will.

We all know those dastardly Democrats bused in 800 black people from Baltimore anyway, so the real margin is Yancey +803.

This is why you always campaign in Prince Wisconsin's County, kids. You never know how close the electoral college could be!

Tribbet makes a good point about how absentees can change more than in-person ballots. Rain In NOVA can make absentee ballots wet and smear ink.

Don't celebrate just yet is what I'm saying.

Wait, isn't Greedo's gripe with the 2004 Washington race the fact that they did multiple recounts? But now he wants a second recount here? lol
Okay the difference with Washington 04 and HD-94 is

Yancy won the first count by 10 votes
Rossi won the first count by 250ish
Yancy lost the second count by 1 vote
Rossi won the second count by 40ish votes
Rossi then goes on to lose in the third count by 110ish votes

So the reason I want a recount is because the result changed in 04 the first 2 counts were the same.

In the Virginia it changed with yancy losing by 1 vote I think that when there is a recount that changes the actual result they should do a extra count.

There should have been a third count in Minnesota in 08 and a fourth count in Washington in 04.

Is this the "new math" baby boomers on facebook warned us about?

a race here 22,000 votes are cast is different then a race where nearly 3 million votes are cast.

The % margin between Rossi and Gregoire in the initial count was closer than the % margin between Yancey and Simonds in the initial count. For reference, the Rossi-Gregoire initial margin would be a margin of 2 votes if it had the same total # of votes as the Yancey-Simonds election.

I don’t think taking the rest of the ballot in context is a good idea, honestly. It opens up a whole can of worms as precedence.

What if the ballot was a Gillespie/Fairfax/Adams ballot, or any other non-party-line ballot?

You should only take the vote in question in consideration; not the rest of the ballot.

Alternatively, they could actually try to win the election straight up.

Pretty big talk for a party which couldn’t win a seat with the actual voters of a district.

The funny thing is, Simonds asked Yancey to make a deal where they respect the results of today's drawing, regardless of who won, and Yancey refused. Now a second recount is inevitable, Yancey is probably kicking himself right now for not making the deal.

But why on earth would anyone trust someone like Simonds to actually uphold such a deal?

Ah yes, everyone knows what they say about PTA moms. Can't trust them!
