I just signed up for a bunch of classes, and I had done no prior reseach so I just chose on the spot, that were mostly prereqs and just did so based on time and what sounded the least bad, did not look at prof ratings much, so if anyone can give me a rough idea of what I just got myself into I would appreciate it

Art History Understanding Art

Intro to Comm Oral and Tech Based

American Civics and national Gov

Exploration of the Humanities (entry level course I believe)

Entry level College Algebra

then a couple specific college courses which I don't think people would have an idea about.

You should be, you signed onto classes without thinking about 'em much, and 18 credit hours at that.

Roll with 16 at the most.

No I have 16 credit hours total this semester, each of those I listed is 3 then there is a freshman intro course with 0 credit hours and intro to business admin course which is 1 credit hour.

I did 6 most terms. Depends on your field, dedication, etc. I recommend 5 classes for your first semester.

What’s your major? Looks suspiciously liberal arts heavy, which I, as a liberal arts veteran, would caution you against.

Btw if this is of any relevance, it can pretty much have my undivided attention since I have literally nothing else major (haha bad pun see what I did there) going on in my life at all. No job, my internship ends like a week before school starts, no nothing really. So I can pretty much dedicate a sh!tload of time towards it if I have to, I pretty much cleared the field for it, expecting the worst and most time consuming stuff. Also the communications class is apparently online, and same with one of those freshman courses.

And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free and I won’t forget the women and men who died who gave that right to me and I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today (seriously I would unlike Trump) cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the USA

Happy 243rd America, you don’t look a day over 30 (seriously you don’t with the current GOP in charge) but still love ya and incredibly proud to be an American.

Oh also, one of the most patriotic and American things to do is sh!t on our leaders and cancers of society.

Good news for people who don't like me: I tried to end my life tonight.  Bad news: I failed spectacularly.

I was set off by yet another problem in my life; everything happens so sporadically and no matter how I try I keep getting f#cked by the powers that be.  Anyway I left a lovely note on my landlord's door, went into my room and held my therapy animals for one last time, telling them how much I love them.  My dog looked like she knew what was going on and had already resigned herself to losing another member of the family, so when I kissed her goodbye her eyes immediately shut.

To make a long story short, I walked over to the bridge a mile from my house and let myself slide into the water.  Had I known how filthy or shallow the water was I never wouldve attempted it, because I knew I couldn't bear to let myself ingest sludge and dirt and feces and whatever the hell else wasthere.  I was more disappointed that the water was so shallow, so there was no chance of drowning myself in all the muck.  I carried myself out and dragged my mud-filled shoes home for another mile, wet and covered in dirt.  I'm embarrassed for not knowing beforehand how shallow that water was.  But it didn't work, so what can you do.  When I got home I tore the suicide letter that I'd written to my landlord.

I dont know what else to do now but lie in peace.  I'm in new clothes now while my others are in the shower.  I have no energy for anything right now, honestly.  I thought that this would be my time to check out and it wasn't.  Now I'm just ashamed of how stupid I was, how poorly planned it all was.  I want to try again if I find a cleaner and less shallow stream.  I'm such a pussy.

I'll try to stay around for Atlasia stuff but I'm not doing well at all.  I left my therapist several calls while I was going through my plan and I'm sure we'll be discussing it tomorrow.

I know I should get to sleep but I can't, even though I took four Lyrica and ten of my Ativan.

Right now I just feel like a failure.  I was ready to die tonight.  I'm just too much of a coward.

You are the exact opposite of a coward, to choose life in the face of adversity and struggle is braver than death. Please stay with us, we appreciate you even if we do not express it. We Purple heart you, I would legit be very sad in rl if you actually did it, please don't Sad. You have people from all over the country that appreciate you, which means you are an awesome person, and the people who know you irl are blessed.

I have not been posting much lately, but I've still been on several times a day and reading stuff here. It's not because "oh my I don't have time" or "oh my mental health has forced me to take a step back" or any other of that weird stuff, it's just there's not much to post about, kinda a drought going on in the elections world rn, ngl. And I do miss it. Can't wait for things to kick back up again.

They're aesthetically and functionally superior to either endnotes or in-text citations. But in this case you need not include the in-text citation. Not only is it its usual ugliness, but in this case it's completely unnecessary.

I needed four pages, this was the easiest way to achieve it.

This whole freshman orientation thing has been miserable daunting and lonely, if things don’t go well the next few months I might not be able to take it and just join the military or get a job or something, because this just seems undoable, kudos to all of you for being able to get degrees, it is an impressive accomplishment.

Oh also update on this. It is still miserably daunting and lonely, but I am a little more confident about doing it now but idk could be a bad thing to be gaining confidence too. Yet it’s weird since I am more chillaxed about it if you know what I mean by that. Like apparently midterms are a thing (never had them in highschool and never even  knew what they were until a couple days ago when I find out through others in my class that I am already half way through them or whatever and I never even knew or anything, I thought they were just normal tests) I guess I don’t pay much attention in class or read much online. Hell, I hardly even check my grades, maybe twice full self evaluation since middle of august. Idk, it’s just different and less urgency than highschool. Like I’m a simple guy with not much material want, so I know I have several paths open that I’d be fine with if I decide to drop out eventually, and it won’t be the end of the world. So idk, this is like one of the most “go with the flow” type living durations I have done in my life so far, and it feels weirdly liberating and comforting at the same time. So I’m aight for now I guess.

I would definitely prioritize your grades bagel, if you don’t keep up with them it’ll bite you.

Have you been active in any on-campus events and organizations? That would surely get you connected to folks and lessen the feeling of loneliness.

yeah ik it’s just so hard to care that much anymore. I joined young dems but they usually meet on thursdays when I don’t have class and I don’t feel like dragging my @$$ over there, since I live at home with my dad several miles away. And I just spend thursday larding around at home.

If nothing major is going on at home, and you have other spare free time, you probably should be active on campus mate. College is for finding connections and yourself while you get a degree, so seize the moment.

Also, my school (UTD) is very different. It is largely commuter so it is a ghost town oftentimes, and it is a pretty unsocial campus and the sports and greek scene (not much of a fan of either anyways) is almost nonexistent. I have quite a bit of free time, I dont have any classes on thursdays or weekends. And UTD is very much a “I’m just here for the degree” type school.
