It's not a competition certainly, but the comparison will be drawn - if 64,015 people die (excluding today) from Covid through 1/4, it would mean more people died under Covid under Biden than did under Trump, in the same period of time (measured from the first Covid death until the end of Trump's presidency). That will put us over 855k deaths, sadly. One million deaths will be eclipsed in August through October 2022, by most estimates.

Look at the positive side - masks can become a fashion statement. Buy some masks that match your aesthetics. If we’re going to be stuck with them for months/years, might as well look good.

This is not intended to be dooming, but what if rather than this being the 'beginning of the end', we're at the 'end of the beginning'? Vaccines and boosters are effective, I don't disagree, but what if it starts to mutate more rapidly and more unpredictably?

Do you think that ~70% of African population are not smart? Yes, the access to vaccines plays a role, but the " vaccine hesitancy" is important (imo, most important), too.

This is a salient point that has consistently hand-waved away. There is clearly distrust among lower income communities, particularly among blacks, in the vaccine.

While I believe not getting vaccinated is a poor decision, certain people are playing with fire, and are bordering on eugenics-based arguments. It’s not just the “white trash” that NY/NJ/MD/VA/GA red avys hate. It’s black people. In cities and the country. Domestically and abroad.

This scientific racism espoused by some on the left is deplorable.

Just because the scientific community gives advise (aka, doing their jobs) doesn't mean you have to follow it.  So calm the f down.

The "scientific community" isn't a monolith, and they surely wouldn't elect Fauxi as their spokesperson.
