No.  If you get offended easily don't subscribe to their tweets or read their website.

Using an extremely vulgar and offensive insult against a completely innocent 9-year old goes far beyond anything they've posted before.

I didn't say it was right or a good thing they did, but the person should not be fired for being "offensive"......

The other problem is that the tweet wasn't the slightest bit even remotely funny.

Well, I read the Onion constantly......they're not always funny even though that's the intent.  They effed up....they apologized (sort of), so move on.

Uh, what would you think if one of our brilliant blue avatars called Sandra Fluke that during those threads about it? And in this case it was against a 9-year old girl.

Posting here /=/ The Onion.  Chill.

Would the child have even known about this had there not been so much outrage?

c**nts never really know how c**nty they are.

Oh they know precisely why and they don't care.....that's what makes them c**nts.

Just a theory, but the fact that the Forum is overwhelmingly male might have something to do with the fact that not many people here found the tweet offensive.

This. And somewhat ironic that two of those who did (me and memphis) are also two people frequently called out as sexist by a certain white knight.

A guy who whines about posts being moderated should support free speech, prude.

The only thing weird, BRTD, is your attitude towards this.

Why is it odd that I don't like misogyny, attacking kids, and stupid shock value "humor" that takes no talent to write and is on the level of internet trolls (that The Onion usually stays far far away from)?

Because it's none of those things.  It's the Onion being the Onion.  Their apology was as fake as the rest of their "news".

It isn't so much 'odd' as just surprising.  You seem to be turning more and more moralistic or conservative as time goes by.  Misogyny or attacking children may not be your 'cup of tea', but why spoil the fun of others?

I like him better before he became a Christian.
