Just curious…

Any vaccinated people starting wearing masks again when going out?  Any choosing not to mask up?

I've been vaccinated for months and never stopped wearing masks in public when indoors. Most people I would see stopped a few months ago but now when I go to the supermarkets I would say most people are wearing masks again.

Moderna did a review of people who were 13 months out from their trial and found only 1% breakthrough infection rate(162 out of 14,000) and even lower numbers of severe cases and hospitalizations.

Great news, for Moderna recipients like myself.  Do you have a link to this review?

Yes

  https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/moderna-says-covid-19-vaccine-protection-wanes-makes-case-booster-2021-09-15/

The news headlines are framing it as Moderna wanting to sell more boosters because they saw that 13 months vs 8 months did show the protection wanes with time but overall like I said the breakthrough was very low for those from mid-2020.

Moderna says COVID-19 vaccine protection wanes, makes case for booster

The government of Trinidad and Tobago has already told Harajuku Barbie to STFU.

It's anecdotal, but my brother volunteered for a COVID-19 clinic yesterday, and a woman who got the inoculation gave everyone (my brother included) there a hard time because she had to either get inoculated or lose her job. She took it out on everyone from the schedulers to the person injecting her to him,,, and he related her hostility to him and the others said basically "We know".

They should have told her to leave, they don't have to put up with that crap. Tell her mam you're free to leave and if you don't pipe down go somewhere else.

We are almost two years into this global Pandemic, and Republicans/Conservatives are still acting like morons.
In the video, they boo when Graham recommends they get vaccinated, and they call him a liar for saying most of the South Carolina's people in ICU, are those who are unvaccinated.

They bred this stupidity. The GOP has been catering to it's worst instincts.

I'm not getting any boosters. The governments of the world need to concentrate on getting shots to unvaccinated people, especially since unlike the United States people around the globe are desperate for these vaccines.

My father is now among the 700,000+ victims of this pernicious and evil disease in this country....

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Yes, when I get booster 2 this coming February, I am going to switch over to Moderna. Pfizer seems to be an inferior product as to efficacy. And now "the science" suggests that you get more protection with the switchover.

Note the Moderna booster is half dose though. Pfizer is the full dose.

Half dose of Moderna is still more potent than a full dose of Pfizer, given Pfizer's is 30% of Moderna.

I continue to be baffled by why Pfizer has been so favored by our government, considering that Moderna is a more effective vaccine than theirs.

Pfizer has less side effects and was first. It's a good vaccine. Pfizer is also an established company with an extensive manufacture and partner network vs Moderna which was essentially a biotech stock thats projects hundreds of billions in future revenue in their space with MRNA cures and vaccines, Covid-19 vaccine for Moderna is an amazing proof of concept for their tech but also a pain in the butt because they don't want to give up their IP.

Republicans are now starting to blame Biden for failing to end the pandemic. This is both nonsensical and hypocritical given that they are disproportionately vaccine resistant and fiercely opposed to any mitigation measure, but I'd expect to see this gain traction, simply because everything bad is blamed on the President.

Why would this surprise you coming from the GOP death cult. They deny climate change and then complain about natural disasters being conspiracies, they want to arm everybody and make gun regulations nearly impossible and then turn around and complain about gun crime, these are the actions of a death cult.

People are freaking out too much. This variant hasn't been shown to be any deadlier. The vaccine and antibody development is happening at a very quick rate and more therapeutics are coming online weekly. People need to take a deep breath and chill. Do what you can, get your initial vaccine because even with the multitude of variants being vaccinated has shown to give you clear statistical protection from severe sickness and death vs. being unvaccinated.

That letter already dispels some of the FUD about HIV related mutation. Also doesn't say what vaccine the 4 patients had against Covid.

The vaccines as just announced are still incredibly statistically effective against all variants of Covid-19 and what we should be concentrating on is getting a higher percent of the population immunized.

Thank you Dr. Rochelle, very cool!

Of course, it makes even less sense than ever to force young, healthy people to get vaccinated.  That won't be the takeaway by the CDC though.  A lot of $$$ on the line for big pharma.

California has some of the highest vaccination rates among large states already, you do realize that this data of less severe infection is a reality of this.

84% of all eligible Californians have at least 1 shot and 67% have a full dose.

Very next tweet

California's relatively high vaccination rate should mean then, that places like Sonoma County should not be issuing voluntary stay-at-home orders, nor was it necessary for the state to have reimposed its mask mandate.

how can people even believe this will ever end anymore

that anything will ever get better

it won't, everything is ed, always has been and always will be

Things are already much better. Deaths are way down, omicron is mild. The problem now is getting the 30-35% of brainwashed hypochondriacs out of eternal COVID mode.

Deaths are not way down, thousands of people are dying everyday, unnecessarily. If more people are catching omicron and it's less deadly is another matter but way too many Americans are still dying of this everyday.

Sad to see students being scared into doing these performative protests:

These are some of the smartest kids in the city. Brooklyn Tech is one of NYC's specialized schools along with Stuyvesant and Bronx Science.

I wouldn't say 'smartest'.  Gifted and privileged is more like it.  We have seen that lower-income and minority students cannot do remote-learning, and if anything it sets them back significantly.

I'm from NYC and when I was growing up there, I knew the kids that went to all 3 schools and Hunter High and LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, these students are definitely in the group of smartest kids in the city.

They're not being manipulated by anybody, they're very sharp.

How about actually having universal healthcare for every American, everything else is window-dressing.

Girl I know was anti vax.

Her husband got covid and literally almost died.

She got the vaccine after that, and her husband is going to get it as soon as he's able.

That's the only way to convince these people...having their very own brush with death because of their ignorance. It's unfortunate, but that's the reality Republicans have made.

Social media is filled with dumbass people who get sick or have a family member die and say something to the effect of

"This Covid-19 is very serious guys"

and a previous post history mocking Covid-19 precautions and filled with insane ramblings and memes.

Man lost his job, his life, widowed his wife and left 4 children fatherless, crazy.

More police died of Covid-19 the past 2 years than anything else, this is the deadliest thing going for cops.

OK, but how many of the current deaths are among fully vaccinated people?

And why is this stat not reported everywhere any time covid deaths are reported?
