Not sure why, but apparently Brad Ashford endorsed Delaney.  Also, the Mayor of San Antonio endorsed Castro.

That's actually pretty big. Hill is one of the most high profile freshman in the House. Not to mention she made her being a millennial a big part of her congressional campaign. Maybe she could work on drumming up support for Kamala amongst younger voters?

Roll Eyes

It's one congresswoman. It would be big if, you know, the Governor Newsom or senior senator of CA  Feinstein endorsed her.

Yeah, okay. You know the entire California delegation more or less is going to line up behind her other than maybe someone super-mavericky like Eric Swalwell for whom she is too liberal.

That has never happened in D primary history, so it would be a first. But seriously, she's one congresswoman, its not a big endorsement. Katie doesnt have
1. The clout to get support among the grassroots like AOC
2. The connections to help get more endorsements like Lee, Pelosi, or Newsom
3. The name rec to make this a big endorsement

This is just an endorsement from a sitting congressmember from CA, just like Ted Leiu's. Nothing more, nothing less. This isnt a big deal, nor a game changer, just an endorsement.

Roll Eyes

Barbara Lee has been at all of her kick-off events. She's obviously going to endorse at some point. Newsom is a close ally of Harris. He's obviously going to endorse, too. Pelosi doesn't usually endorse at all until the final result is clear, so that's not meaningful.

And AOC is not really that important an endorsement, and the idea that she is somehow more important than other Congresspeople is ridiculous. But feel free to spin and look like an idiot.

I think AOC’s endorsement would only be a big deal if she doesn’t endorse Bernie.

California's Lt. Governor [Eleni Kounalakis] and Treasurer [Fiona Ma] endorsed Harris, as did San Francisco Mayor London Breed.  In other news, Emmanuel Cleaver supposedly endorsed Julian Castro, but I can't find that anywhere except The Intercept, so we might wanna hold off on putting that one on the board until it's confirmed by a credible source.

Sidenote: I just realized that while they're obviously both running, neither Warren nor Gillibrand has officially launched their campaign yet (still both doing the silly exploratory committee thing).  Harris has officially launched her campaign, so I imagine she'll be getting most of the announced endorsements and publicity until another major candidate has a formal campaign launch.

Now this. This is big news.

Of course, it's not big news.  Just helping keep the thread up-to-date Tongue

Guys, we might as well cancel the primaries; Tim Canova endorsed Tulsi Gabbard!

Henry Cisneros endorsed Castro.  Also, Duluth Mayor (over 200,000 people) Emily Larson has endorsed Klobuchar.

City of Duluth is only about 86,293. Metro area is over 200,000.

Got it, my bad.

This is a dumb reason to attack Barbara Lee and I say that as someone who never liked her or Harris.

So Sanders gets the first out-of-state endorsement.

Well technically, that goes to Emmanuel Cleaver, who endorsed Castro a while back. That should really be added to the list.

I'll add it, but I'm not sold he was 100% to Castro.

He’s said nothing suggesting he’s actually endorsed Castro.

I think this is her way of saying "I know I'm polarizing, so I want to settle into my role in Congress first before I go backing any candidate"

She'll back Bernie or Liz though

Yeah, this is actually one of the smarter moves she's made of late imo.  This way she has more influence as the field is starting to take shape and remains a valuable potential endorsement for folks like Warren, Sanders, Brown, etc.

Wow, in a primary where only 2 candidates had support outside their state, Beto got his first endorsement outside of TX. Weird, but impressive, though Rice isnt really a prominent House Member.

IIRC she was one of the main anti-Pelosi folks along with Moulton and Tim Ryan.

Reps. Sheila Lee Jackson and Sylvia Garcia were at Kamala's rally today-

I don't know that Sheila Jackson Lee is the sort of endorsement one should be bragging about Tongue

I mean, she isn't bad...

I'm gonna have dinner soon, so shoot me a PM if you're really curious and I'll elaborate when I have a chance, but Lee is pretty widely regarded as one of the worst members of the House Democratic Caucus (for completely non-ideological reasons).

Has Dukakis endorsed in a primary anytime recently? I guess he really doesn't like the plagiarizer.

I kind of forgot Dukakis was still alive. Dude who rode a tank and blew a huge lead, right?

Nope, he was used by the Republican sinful dirt machine, yet he was not the one spit on the hardest. That throphy goes to Gary Hart. I hope every Republican operative ever will burn in hell one day for their despicable, utterly sinful actions.

Hart got exactly what he deserved.  Th Republicans aren’t the ones who made him cheat on his wife.  That was Hart’s fault and no one else’s.

He didn't cheat on his wife. Didn't you see the Rachel Maddow show about the scandal in the fall?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHOu7WAgZCU

- 1) I don’t watch MSNBC (except every once in a while Ari Melber’s show), so I didn’t see it Tongue

- 2) The source for that story in The Atlantic literally admitted that he has no evidence to support his claims (the article even acknowledges this).  This sounds a lot like a liberal conspiracy theory propped up by some guy who was looking to make a quick buck when that [really bad] movie came out about the scandal last year.

- 3) You know who did say that Gary Hart had cheated on his wife?  Gary Hart Tongue  He admitted to having done so in a 1987 interview on ABC.
