Why are we wasting time on dead-end fads like solar energy or fossil fuels?  All this time we could have been using f****try.

Apparently, the comedy goldmine thing started on this forum in a thread that has now been deleted.  This quote is how it started:

Notice that I edited Everett's last post.

Oh yeah, but I was just saying that what I posted was when the whole "you're a comedy goldmine" thing started.

I've always wondered how jfern became so amazing at debating...

The Constitution supersedes Senate rules, and the argument is that the closure rule is unconstitutional.

Your mom is unconstitutional.

What's scary is that jfern probably thought he was making a valid argument.

That was the central reason for me posting this here.  In answer to your question, I truly have no idea.

To all the Bible thumpers in the last few posts: do you see what it says in the thread title in brackets?  Please take your ridiculous Holy War elsewhere.

Its sad today how more and more people get stupid. In the end we all well see. The Bible is 100% real. You guys are just to stupid to understand or believe in it.

What's funny about the bible being true?  Not believing it and you going to hell is funnier for me, but seriously I think saving yourself would be much better for u Smiley

Heheh, "Poolenty":

Uh, Minnesota judges (the Supreme Court included) are elected through a non-partisan election.

That could be just as bad. If people are willing to elect conservatives like Poolenty and Kiffmeyer than they'll probably elect conservative judges too.

Not to mention that I've corrected his spelling and grammar a few times.  I guess he was using the 'George W. Bush' definition of 'articulate'.

While that is truly hilarious from start to finish, it's probably only fair that the real author gets the credit.

What made it funny for me was the 'communist takeover' part.  It reminds me of when the DU / DailyKos crowd talk about the 'fascist Bush regime' and such.

Nancy Pelosi is a great face for the democratic party. She radiates strength, confidence, and knowledge. I believe she is tough and a great politician.

That's not strength.  It is post-surgery rigidity.

Eh, you have to see it in context actually. That's probably why this place doesn't have a Comedy Goldmine, while it's funnier than Atlas, all the funny stuff must viewed in context.

So if you knew that it wouldn't be funny for the rest of us who don't know the context, why did you post it here anyway?

Unintentionally funny:

I know it is impossible to predict a winner logically, but I still think Healey will win.

In order to protect our skies from terrorism, I came up with an idea it's kind of stupid and irrational but what if we were to put a Terminator-like robot on each and every flight. Any thoughts?

Nope, Boss Tweed's was better.  Funnier too, and isn't that the whole point?
