In order to protect our skies from terrorism, I came up with an idea it's kind of stupid and irrational but what if we were to put a Terminator-like robot on each and every flight. Any thoughts?

You do know that the Terminator trilogy was fiction, right?  I mean, that kind of advanced technology is non-existant.

Better plan, equip pilots with guns and train them well.  Let passengers take guns on board too.

Am I the only person who thinks guns on airplanes is a completley asinine idea?

So then we arm terrorist passengers with guns?  WTF?  Or was this sarcasm to go along with it.

What about low cost air lines? Do they only get the T-800 model while the big ones get a badass T-1000?

Screw Terminator. Put a Robocop on board flights. Ever seen the pistol he carried? He'd make quick work of any hijacker in no time. Tongue

Here's a better idea that will never be implemented - replace the current airline security with highly trained, competent security personell.

Why not wish for a pot of gold while you're at it? Expecting competence from THIS adminisdtration is like expecting diamonds from sh**t you find in the toilet. Not happening.

It shouldn't have to be the government's responsibility.  The airline companies themselves could do it.

I said it would never be implemented, didn't I? I'm not expecting it from this or any other administration - politicians in general tend to be incompetent.

Right. TYhey spend too much time hassling people for "vices" and too little time dealing actual crimes.

No sarcasm.  Had the passengers on the 9-11 flights been allowed to carry weapons then they could've shot the terrorists and been able to kill them before the flight goes into the building.  In case no passenger has a weapon to take on board, the pilots should at least been given heavy training and they would be able to take out the terrorists.

The concept of handgun ownership is that nobody acts out-out of fear that they would be shot.  If you're afraid to own a gun, that's perfectly fine because just (the criminal) knowing that you potentially have a gun is enough to scare many people off.  Now obviously the terrorists don't care about not dying, but they at least want to carry out their plans-and who better to prevent them from doing that than a gun-owner?
