Old English really isnt that hard to understand.

Yes it is. Here's a sampling. Can you translate this?

oretmecgas æfter æþelum frægn:
"Hwanon ferigeað ge fætte scyldas,
græge syrcan ond grimhelmas,
heresceafta heap? Ic eom Hroðgares
ar ond ombiht. Ne seah ic elþeodige
þus manige men modiglicran,
Wen ic þæt ge for wlenco, nalles for wræcsiðum,
ac for higeþrymmum Hroðgar sohton."

It barely resembles Modern English at all, and is actually closer to Icelandic than another other modern language.

That looks like the paper on perceptual constancies I once wrote at 4 in the morning.

Anyway, if its close to any language it'll be Danish.  Which yes, is still Nordic like Iceland, so I'll stop splitting hairs...

If the Rapture happens as it is described, my head will probably be impaled on a pike as the rest of my body bathes in pools of molten sulfur. I think that will be my biggest problem at that point.

Uh, declare war on God for killing so many innocent people I guess.

Since they have been raptured, they're clearly in a better place now, so why would you complain?

I'm thinking he's talking about the people killed in the aftermath of that event simply because they are non-Christians.

Oh, so the Rapture is kind of like a large-scale Christian equivalent of suicide bombers?  They all believe they're going to Heaven and everybody else is going to Hell.
