What would you call a fiscal conservative/social liberal who isn't a libertarian?

I would call you a Rockefeller/George Romney Republican. A typical pre-Religious Right conservative.

Once again, supporting public healthcare and civil rights isn't remotely conservative.


I don't like this group, even though people mistake me for it a lot. I'd call them "authoritarian/urban neoliberals". Along the lines of Michael Bloomberg and maybe to the left of Rudy Giuliani a little.

Seriously though, I'd call you a conservative-liberal. Like, I dunno, VVD or a Cameron Tory or whatever.

How is supporting civil rights not conservative?  Can't you be conservative and pro-civil rights at the same time?

I'm not talking about segregation... I mean things like spying, torture, and social issues in general.
